21/04/2026: This is a truly unique place to visit. It does not open until 8 - the gate across the front is locked so it leaves folks guessing whether it is still in operation. It is. Definitely worth a visit for a pint and some great conversation.
14/04/2026: A really great spot for a warm welcome, stories you'll hear nowhere else and not a million options at the bar -just the good stuff. Truly one of those mythical places where locals and tourists can come together to make a perfect blend.

15/04/2026: Excellent stay last weekend with my baby as part of a hen party. Cannot thank the staff enough, I found myself staying on my own with my baby due to the fuel protests. The ladies on reception were so welcoming and helped with my luggage. The restaurant delivered my meal to the room, it was lovely. The hotel is great and the staff definitely made my stay enjoyable and relaxing.
08/04/2026: Good hotel located in the centre of kilkenny. Room was nice, clean and big, and despite it overlooking the main street it was quiet. Slightly odd setup that the quickest way to the hotel room was to leave the building and walk across the car park, but there was an option to walk through the hotel also. Bar was good, just went there for a drink, not food. Breakfast is self service and a good choice of hot and cold food.

01/04/2026: We ate there for lunch, without a reservation. The dishes are classic: fish and chips, soup, burgers, sharing platters with drinks... One small negative point: the numerous pieces of chewing gum stuck under the counter, which are clearly visible when you're sitting at the table next to it.

06/09/2025: O'Hara's tap room. Went there and had really good beer. Spoke with two of the bartenders (possibly owners?) asked for a sticker (which no breweries or distillers carry in Ireland) and received a free t shirt instead. Great place good people!

17/03/2026: Very good for the price of it. Cheese burger only 3.50 and was lovely and also got chips in with it and it still was only 3.50. Very good and would recommend.

28/09/2025: The most disgusting place I have ever stayed. We opened up the drawer beside the bed to find green mould. There was stains all over the carpets and walls. The shower door nearly fell down on top of me. However we did get great entertainment out of reading the reviews and owners responses.

04/07/2025: En un viaje reciente a Kilkenny, tuve la suerte de pasar por el bar Marble City para almorzar. He visitado Kilkenny en muchas ocasiones pero nunca había comido aquí antes. Kevin, que era agradable, conversador y todo un caballero, me sirvió una comida deliciosa. Esto hizo que mi experiencia fuera muy placentera y tengo toda la intención de volver a venir aquí para comer.
04/07/2025: Tuvimos una comida fabulosa aquí hoy en el bar Marble City, llegamos sin reserva y tuvimos la suerte de que nos sentaran de inmediato, Kevin, nuestro camarero, fue muy amable, servicial y paciente con 2 comensales quisquillosos, la comida era deliciosa y una experiencia encantadora en todos los sentidos, volveremos.

27/08/2025: Myself and my partner had dinner in Statham’s by Pembroke on Saturday night and to say the food was out of this world is an understatement, each course was prepared and served to perfection. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the atmosphere was amazing. This is a top class venue with the most delicious food i have ever eaten can't wait to come back again.

10/07/2024: Low-quality food for the price, unfriendly atmosphere, didn't feel very hygienic, disappointed with this place, would not recommend since there are so many places that are actually friendly and delicious to eat/drink in Kilkenny.

30/07/2025: Avoid at all costs! Zero stars if I could.
Terrible service, terrible atmosphere, overpriced!
Staff more interested in texting, chatting- had to go into back room to ask for someone to take order even though they could see a queue of people waiting! Forgot part of order and pretty miffed when asked if could have it. No vegetarian options but “we could take the ham off the the ham and cheese sandwich”.
Avoid, avoid, avoid! Lots of cafes and restaurants outside the castle to go to!
