This is a truly unique place to visit. It does not open until 8 - the gate across the front is locked so it leaves folks guessing whether it is still in operation. It is. Definitely worth a visit for a pint and some great conversation.

A really great spot for a warm welcome, stories you'll hear nowhere else and not a million options at the bar -just the good stuff. Truly one of those mythical places where locals and tourists can come together to make a perfect blend.

What an interesting man and what an interesting pub to visit. Cute little old pub, a lot of history, make sure to ask about it.
Came on Saturday, it opened at 8pm, Google Maps hours may be wrong. Go down the alley and enter through the door to your right, follow signs. Once inside, come into the building and it’ll be the second door to your left (don’t go upstairs), open if necessary. Bring cash.

A very nice, cozy, and very small bar with a lot of character and a great atmosphere.
When we arrived, we were immediately welcomed by the owner, who had an interesting story to share. The owner is a great storyteller. He made sure we had a great evening, together with the other guests, both locals and tourists, it made for an unforgettable eve.
I would absolutely recommend going here!
Bring cash - no card payments accepted.
A must see. We met a number of great locals and tourists in this charming wee pub. Highly recommended!!

Brian is awesome at this teeny tiny pub! We were only able to stay for one drink (tired mother-in-law), but we wish we could have stayed for hours! Thanks for the brief bit of music and camaraderie!

We decided to go by Hole in the Wall because of its history and the reviews were good — we stayed for 6 hours and left saying it was the best night of our life. The bar is small (only about 9 chairs) and forces you to make friends quick. We met people from all over, told stories, sang songs, and played lots of instruments. Michael, the owner of the bar, is incredible and Brian is very kind and a talented musician. Loads of laughs, great people, lots of Guinness (the only tap). Show up with an open heart and you’ll have a wonderful time.

What a find…. When my friends and I passed the blackboard sign at the top of a dark lane way I wasn’t exactly expecting what we found. A great night of craic stories and song where you leave knowing everyone’s name. A memorable evening and great Guinness!
