17/05/2025: Great spot, Landlord and staff very welcoming. We dropped in almost by accident blown away with warmth of people generally. Managed to go back the following night for a live music session which was also amazing. Well used spot by locals which is also a good sign.

20/05/2025: We reserved an area with dart board and finger food for a group trip, and it was perfect. Staff were really good fun and even joined in a sing-song at the end of the night. Would definitely recommend Rafter's for a group night out. Note, we didn't stay overnight here but I didn't want to dock marks for that.
18/05/2025: Stopped in for breakfast and food was top notch and reasonable priced.
Staff were very friendly
Place is full of nice memorabilia
Toilets were very clean

05/07/2025: I don’t think this place was really worth it. The wine pairing was very weak, and the food was good, but it seems like they just focus on technique rather than pairing flavors and finding their own individuality and uniqueness.
I get that a lot of these single star places that have held a star for a while are a bit stuffy, and that was the same here. The place seemed a bit soulless.
At the end of the day, the food was still of high quality, I just think the value was far off, so if you have money to kill maybe think about going here, but I wouldn’t for a special occasion.
19/06/2025: As beautiful to watch as good to eat. The chef comes to put the Comté cheese sauce on the meat and to chat. The team is very cute and friendly. It was worth the special trip from Dublin.

12/05/2025: Short ride from the ferry at Rosslare. Welcome and service was great. Food good. Place was a little care worn with lamps out in the dining area and our room had a live electrical box with its cover removed and loosely positioned in front so if you were so inclined you could give yourself a new hairstyle if you decided to poke around inside. The wiring beneath with exposed rear to patress boxes was also a concern. Despite the obvious electrical safety items we had a good stay here

20/05/2025: Hard to know where to begin.
So I will start by saying that:
The staff in this place (excluding the manageress) have an absolute disgusting manner and bad attitude in general.
Customer skills are almost practically non existent.
The 2 female waitresses (1 Romanian, 1 Irish ) on the floor should honestly just quit working in hospitality altogether.
Because they just haven't a clue how to deal with customers properly, professionally, and in an appropriate way.
Avoid this place altogether if you do not wish to deal with an environment that is permeated with bad manners, insincerity, and a hostile environment where staff are concerned.

27/06/2025: hi all..really enjoyed food here .. The restaurant is back open again. It has a great selection of suhi and also oriental food..no drink licence there yet..so allowed bring your own..service excellent..we will definitely eat there again..highly recommend..
25/06/2025: Ordered noodles and rice with beef and a few other bits from LAM cuisine, absolutely incredible! The beef is honestly the best I've had in kilkenny. So soft and flavour full. Portion sizes very good making it great value for money. Highly recommend 👌

01/07/2025: €4.75 for a "flat white" from a machine is simply not on. The most expensive coffee I've ever had and it was awful. Plenty of lovely cafes in Kilkenny, go somewhere else.
26/06/2025: Popped in just as they were closing, and while they said it was no problem to get a coffee, I was really disappointed. I paid €4.75 for a flat white, but since the machine upstairs was being cleaned, it was made downstairs.
When I tasted it, it was clearly not made by a barista it tasted like it came from a push button machine: weak, flat, and honestly not enjoyable. For that price, I expected a proper, fresh coffee made by a barista, not something that tasted worse than what you'd get at a petrol station.
They shouldn't be charging €4.75 for a coffee that isn’t made properly. Definitely wouldn’t recommend based on this experience.

25/04/2025: Personal muy amable y atento. Cenamos el domingo de Pascua aquí. Tomé el pollo con mantequilla aromática con arroz Basmati y pan Naan con una ensalada. El plato tenía un tamaño adecuado y un precio moderado de 21 €. También tenían cordero asado con todos los recortes por un muy razonable € 24. 99 . Muy pocos restaurantes ofrecen cordero esta Semana Santa debido al precio del cordero en la actualidad. Estaba muy tentado, excepto que ya había comido temprano en el día en Tapas Tabu en Thomastown. Hermosas vistas del paisaje ondulado del campo de golf Champion desde este cómodo restaurante clubhouse.

14/07/2024: Tuvimos un tiempo increíble en el brunch sin fondo. El servicio fue absolutamente increíble, y el DJ realmente añadió a toda la experiencia. Muy recomendable
19/06/2024: Honestamente, no puedo entender la alta calificación que este lugar ha logrado. Estábamos de despedida de soltera y reservamos las 2: 30 Ranura de almuerzo sin fondo el sábado. Era un manicomio absoluto con la música por las nubes. Terrible comida, asqueroso efervescente y cócteles acuosos. El comedor es una larga habitación estrecha oscura sin cubiertas en las mesas y sillas de mala calidad.
Nos fuimos después de una hora. Si usted está pensando en reservar esto, debe conseguir uno de su grupo para ir primero para comprobarlo.

The Lime Tree cafe & restaurant
28/10/2024: Un lugar fabuloso para reunirse con un amigo o un almuerzo de domingo en familia. Comida muy sabrosa y el pudín de toffee pegajoso es divino.
17/09/2024: Lugar encantador, buen personal, buena comida. Lleno de lugareños, lo que siempre es una buena señal. Tacos de camarones con salsa de mango, deliciosos.
Pero... los baños. Necesitan una limpieza profunda. No sólo el baño, sino las paredes, puertas, todo.
De todos modos, estropeé la experiencia.
