05/12/2025: I rarely leave reviews, and now I'll be honest this did happen a while ago. But the experience was so bad it's actually stuck with me, I think about it a lot. I believe it actually changed the course of my life, if I didnt go to rafters that morning for the fry with my friends id be a different man... a better man. But the service was so bad it tainted me.
I hear the waitress' shrill voice everytime I close my eyes. "A cappuccino?" she says to my friend quizzicaly, "but id have to make that... just for you" she screeches. Followed by a torrent of obscenities and abuse. I thought the experience was over but then the slop arrived.
Lads honestly I cant even put into words how bad the entire experience was, from the start the place was dead empty and she was still trying to run us out the door, saying the guests would be awake soon and there'd be no room for us, 40 minutes later still waiting for the grub and not a sign of a guest... it actually had me thinking we weren't real for a bit, that we were wandering spirits only she could interact with. But then the amount of abuse she muttered at us anchored me back to the mortal realm.
The overall experience was 0 stars, but the strangeness/funniness of every interaction in there and the fact we get such a laugh talking about it gives it 5 stars on the banter scale

28/11/2025: Had the best time. Shoutout to Mia and her father. The Otter Bar was a highlight of my trip while traveling Ireland. We originally stopped in for a bite to eat but ended up getting take out delivered to the bar from another village. “The people of Inistioge are hungry!” I’ll cherish the memories. Spice bags and Sláinte!

22/11/2025: Well what can we say? Each and every dish was so good! Especially the fish course. Not much of a fish person but Lady Helen converted me! We were full by the veal course but it was so good that we finished it. We did not go for wine pairing but ordered a bottle between the two of us. I meam the wine was lovely. Every time we come to Kilkenny, we come to the Lady Helen. Thank you again and can't wait to be back!
19/11/2025: The best Michelin restaurant I've eaten at. Will come back for sure. Every dish was amazing. And the wine pairing was unbelievable. I can't say enough about the chef. Not one dish disappointed us.

25/09/2025: Attended as part of company lunch and Elise was very accommodating in making reservation. Upon arrival allocated dining area ready for our party. Great choice available on menu with orders taken promptly after arriving. Food delivered right on time with presentation and quality top notch. Variety of menu items ordered with good reviews of all from my colleagues. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.
19/08/2025: Had a fabulous light lunch on the patio area.
Signature steak sandwich, coffee and pear and almond scone.
Can only say good things about the waitresses - jovial and patient.
Food was excellent, pricing good and arrived promptly.
A great little cafe above the strip so quiet and secluded with a lovely atmosphere.
Coffee- flat white 8.5/10 - very good.
A nice place to rest your legs after visiting the Castle or climbing St Canice’s tower.

04/12/2025: 2 stars as the ladies working there were very attentive and overall lovely. I ordered a cappucino for take away but by the taste and look of it it seemed to have been an Americano with milk..which I paid over 5 euro for and even at that it was below average in taste..
I got a pastry with it which only at home I realised tasted dry, nearly tasteless, and stale. I tried to heat it up but it was so unpleasant that I ended up just throwing it out. 10 euro spent on something I could get better quality of at a petrol station. Very disappointing and will not visit again.
27/09/2025: I loved having breakfast at ML Dore as the food was excellent and the servers were very friendly and helpful.
My husband and I had an omelette with salad and everything was delicicious.
The coffee was also very good.
The seating area at the back of the restaurant is very comfortable with a very nice ambiance.

19/10/2024: D'un point de vue français la façade ferait presque fuir (comme souvent en Irlande) mais il faut pousser la porte, c'est juste parfait à tous points de vue, ambiance, cuisine, rien à redire. J'ai fait beaucoup de pubs / restaurants en Irlande, celui-ci fait partie de mes préférés.

Mount Juliet Golf Club

19/08/2025: I recently played two rounds at Mount Juliet during a short trip home — teeing off at 4:00 PM one day and again at 8:20 AM the next morning. I spent over €400 between green fees and buggy hire, expecting a top-tier golfing experience. Unfortunately, it fell well short of expectations.
The front nine on both days was significantly disrupted by maintenance work. Grounds staff were actively working on most holes, and a maintenance vehicle followed me for three consecutive holes. Every time I lined up a shot, the vehicle’s engine would idle or start nearby — whether intentional or not, it was incredibly distracting and took away from the experience.
Several bunkers were also in noticeably poor condition, which is surprising given the high standard Mount Juliet is known for.
The worst part, however, was the buggy I hired for €60. It couldn’t reverse and had to be physically pushed multiple times during the round — completely unacceptable for a course charging these kinds of premium rates.
I emailed the club three times over the course of more than two weeks and received no response. I had hoped for at least an acknowledgment, if not a goodwill gesture like a voucher or future round — especially as I won’t have time to return this trip.
I’ve played Mount Juliet regularly when home, and I was genuinely looking forward to this visit. Sadly, the experience and lack of customer service were a real letdown.
02/08/2025: Recién llegado a casa un rato después de un gran día jugando Mount Juliet... me encantó el campo, aunque tal vez sea fácil decirlo después de disparar 79 gross / 39 pts. Los greens eran excelentes y el campo superó mis expectativas. . . sí, algunos trozos irregulares en calles, PERO el campo en general se veía muy bien y los greens eran excelentes.
Desde que llegamos hasta que nos fuimos... el personal era increíble. Jovencita en la tienda profesional era acogedor, charlatán y servicial. El joven que hace de titular era acogedor, informativo y charlatán . . el joven en el 10o también amable y charlatán - buenas bromas sobre el rugby y finalmente Amber fue excelente cuidando de nosotros durante nuestra comida. Ambos si disfrutamos del Butter Chicken & Fish & Chips respectivamente seguido del helado Ic Cream & Brownie postres.

19/06/2024: Honestamente, no puedo entender la alta calificación que este lugar ha logrado. Estábamos de despedida de soltera y reservamos las 2: 30 Ranura de almuerzo sin fondo el sábado. Era un manicomio absoluto con la música por las nubes. Terrible comida, asqueroso efervescente y cócteles acuosos. El comedor es una larga habitación estrecha oscura sin cubiertas en las mesas y sillas de mala calidad.
Nos fuimos después de una hora. Si usted está pensando en reservar esto, debe conseguir uno de su grupo para ir primero para comprobarlo.
