Nostalgia Cafe in Kilkenny

Lovely experience today, first time visiting and was really well looked after. I was under pressure for time and the lovely lady (I’m sorry I didn’t get your name) serving me went above and beyond to get me fed before an appointment I was rushing to! Food was gorgeous, service was exceptional! Will definitely be back 😊

Incredible. The French come! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 — An incredible taste experience! I’m honestly still shocked at how delicious this was! 😭😍 We actually came across this place completely by chance in Killarney. We had simply stopped because we needed a quick bathroom break 😂, but when we saw the shop, we were immediately attracted to it and thought, “Why not get a little cupcake?” In the end, we asked the lovely waitress for her recommendations, and she was incredibly polite, friendly and helpful. She recommended their most popular desserts: the lemon cake and the strawberry cheesecake. I was actually a little hesitant about the cheesecake because, in France, I often find that cheesecakes have a very strong cream-cheese taste. The only one I usually enjoy is Oreo cheesecake. But THIS cheesecake… WOW! 🤯❤️ Now I finally understand what a REAL cheesecake is! It was so soft, creamy and smooth, with a delicious biscuit base, a lovely cream topping, fresh fruit that was full of flavor, and the most delicious coulis on top. And here’s another great surprise: the cream, fresh fruit and coulis are automatically included with the cheesecake! 😍 Honestly, this spontaneous little stop turned into a real taste adventure, and I absolutely do not regret it! A special mention also goes to the whole staff, who were all so polite, warm and welcoming. And even if you’re French and your English is terrible 😂, don’t worry! Even speaking in “Franglais”, you can still communicate perfectly fine! I did have some reservations about the cheesecake, though, because in France I often find the cream cheese flavor a bit too strong. That's actually why the only cheesecake I can usually really enjoy is the Oreo one. But THEIR CHEESECAKE… WOW! 🤯❤️ Now I finally know what a real cheesecake is! It was incredibly soft, creamy, and melt-in-your-mouth, with a delicious biscuit base, a light and flavorful cream, an absolutely delicious red berry coulis, and fresh, flavorful fruit. And a nice little surprise: the cream, fruit, and coulis are automatically included with the cheesecake! 😍 In short, this impromptu break turned into a true explosion of flavors, and I absolutely don't regret giving in to temptation. Special mention also goes to the whole team, who were very polite, warm, and welcoming. And even if you're French with terrible English 😂, don't panic: even speaking in "Franglais," we managed to understand each other perfectly! A wonderful discovery during our visit to Killarney. In short, everything is a three star.

The "Garden Terrace" sounded inviting, but it was just a terrace with plastic walls and artificial plants; very noisy due to a fan. Coffee was relatively expensive. The cake was nicely presented, but unfortunately tasted like something from the supermarket. Overall, not very tasty. Service was friendly and quick. I wouldn't go again.

While on a guided tour of Kilkenny, my partner and I enjoyed a lovely lunch at Nostalgia Cafe. We were seated quickly, and the service was great. We ordered the special of a scone, cream, jam and a hot beverage (we ordered a cappuccino). There was a sprinkling of cocoa powder, mocha powder or something of the like and it was unexpected and tasty. I will be making my lattes and cappuccinos like that from now on. We also split the triple decker club sandwich and chips. Everything was fairly priced and it kept us fueled up for our tour. I'm glad we stopped by Nostalgia!
