Oyster Tavern in Spa

This is a smashing restaurant with a bar area. The only downside is that it was quite busy, noisy and very hot on the Friday night when we visited. The food was fantastic with a great choice. Arrive hungry.

A restaurant on Tralee Bay, offering generous portions, attentive and fast service, and a refined, if perhaps slightly retro, atmosphere. An excellent experience.

We visited The Oyster Tavern as a group of three adults and a toddler. The food was good, and anything we didn't particularly enjoy came down to personal taste rather than the quality of the cooking. We especially liked the complimentary bread and butter that was brought to the table as soon as we were seated. It was a lovely touch and made us feel very welcome. The only real disappointment was the ice cream. At €5.50, we received two very small scoops, and unfortunately it was quite bland and lacking in flavour. It didn't feel like good value/quality compared to the rest of the meal. The restaurant was very busy, which created a nice atmosphere, although it was also quite noisy. We also noticed when we stepped outside that the air inside had felt a little stuffy, so perhaps the ventilation could be improved during busy periods. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would definitely consider coming back

Literally just finished the best meal we have eaten in years here - the monkfish and prawn mornay was delicious and perfectly cooked, as was the hake. The portions were gigantic and service excellent and friendly. I would drive from Co. Down just to eat here again! You don’t get food like this out these days anymore !

Premium offerings of very fine cuisine.

What an amazing experience! I have been on a seafood chowder hunt for the past 20 years, and this was one of the best I have ever had. We ordered the lobster and the beef for our mains, and both were absolutely delicious. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and they genuinely wanted to look after us. It was an incredible dining experience. The Guinness was excellent too! Unfortunately, I did not get any photos because I was too busy enjoying the food. 😊 Highly recommended. 10 out of 10!

Jim, Aine and the crew are exceptional hosts and that is why everyone loves going to The Oyster. The scallops mornay is incredible. It has the wow factor and one of my favourite places anywhere.
