Came in after the loop walk in Clarinbridge. Lovely old style pub. I ordered a steak sandwich which was so tasty. I did order medium but came out well done however it was still very tasty. Will be back for sure! Staff were friendly
The place itself is lovely. Nice and cosy, with good service. The food however, is abysmal for the price point.
I was very surprised at the amount of salt on the bread of my steak sandwich when I took my first bite. The mushrooms and onions were Tesco fare and the steak (if you could call it that) in the sandwich was a very thin slice of what looked and tasted like rump steak, extra tough. The pepper sauce was watery and tasteless, out of a packet.
Definitely not worth €20.
So disappointing and sad to see this iconic restaurant slip in there previously high standard quality. My family have been going here for about 20 years and until change of ownership and staff it was top notch. From food to service. Excellent. Ate here on Friday and we had to look for someone for a menu, then look for someone to order, then had to ask someone to take our starters, then had to ask for our mains. It was horrendous. Food came out ice cold. Steak like leather. We were so hunger we ate it but complained upon paying. To which the nice gentleman discounted one steak. Its truly sad to see standards of this place go down so much. Whoever owns this place needs to go back to how paddy burkes was always ran. Which was utter perfection.
14/12/2023: The chicken sandwich was simply beautiful food created by someone who knows what they’re doing. I am so glad they managed to reopen after the flood so quickly. Coffee was nice too and service was efficient. Will definitely return when in the area. Also wonderful value.
02/11/2023: Lovely place and food really nice but one server a middle aged female with black hair was very unfriendly and cross. Young staff very helpful
