Ivy Cottage

29/10/2025: Charming restaurant with delicious food. I was there at the end of July with my mother staying within walking distance of the restaurant, and it was one of the best meals we had during our 5 day trip in Ireland.

Nancy's

Ardara
22/10/2025: Nice pub. The bartender is funny and really helpful. The decoration is interesting. And the Irish coffee is really nice.
12/10/2025: The most incredible, the most beautiful, and the warmest of all the pubs we discovered throughout our road trip in Ireland. This one is a true gem, the owner's former house, which is actually a series of small rooms worth visiting, each one retaining its old-world charm, with knick-knacks, a piano, an old desk, period photos, and more. A true gem ♥️

Darkey Kelly's

Dublin
09/12/2025: Classic Irish pub experience with live music, good beer, and delicious food! The special Christmas turkey plate was AMAZING and the curry was slightly sweet with the right amount of spice. We were sat at the back bar, by the beer garden, right away and enjoyed looking at the bars different knick knacks. We couldn’t see the musicians but that’s alright because you can hear them clearly throughout the bar! It started to get crowded around 7pm but it wasn’t too bad because there’s plenty of room to move around and the beer garden offers a silent retreat, with heating. Definitely worth a visit!
09/12/2025: Excellent! For me, the best pub in Dublin. The atmosphere is great. The bartenders are friendly, the food is delicious, especially the Irish stew. The music is fantastic, and they bring in some great people. We spent three nights in Dublin, and this was the best for us. We went to other pubs in the city center, but there's no comparison; this place is authentic. Sometimes you have to wait a bit for a table, but it's worth it.

Blind Piper

11/11/2025: Easily one of the best pubs in the area. The interior doesn’t try to impress with extravagance; instead, it’s honest, warm, and lived-in. What truly sets the place apart is the crowd: people who carry a kind of quiet sincerity that makes a simple evening feel like time well spent.
10/11/2025: Amazing old pub and very good food...the halloumi was great 👌

John Kavanagh The Gravediggers

Dublin
06/11/2025: Visiting from NJ. Friends that live in Ireland took us here. What a cool place. Its what I always envisioned an Irish Pub to be like. Great pint of Guinness. Bartender was very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a place to stop in for a pint and good fun conversation
04/11/2025: Off the beaten path but very much a wonderful pub. Excellent coddle and one of the best Guinness pours near Dublin. Hopefully this stays as a hidden gem and doesn't become ridden with tourists like The Cobblestone has become over the past few years. Very much looking forward to our next visit at this lovely pub.

WILD Restaurant

Ballinspittle
16/11/2025: This is a gem worth travelling to. Excellent food. We had perfectly done chicken wings in the mouth watering house hot sauce, crispy pork belly in asian slaw, and breaded cauliflower florets with garlic and truffle mayo to start, then spectacular beef cheecks, mash, broccoli with wild mushroom sauce, and pappardelle squash basil sauce with parmesan. For desert a 'Wild' mess with a "unicorn tears" berry compote with fresh strawberries, and a decadent belgian chocolate hot sweet treat served with vanilla ice cream. We left more than satisfied. Well done and keep it up! Thank you.
28/10/2025: Fabulous restaurant, cosy and warm and friendly staff. Food is outstand

Hayfield Manor Hotel

Cork
15/11/2025: Myself and my wife dined in the Orchid last night. Stunning food and the service was outstanding. So friendly, polite and helpful.
14/11/2025: Hayfield Manor is an outstanding hotel! The room and grounds were easily as good or better than expected for this price point. The building is historical and charming but with modern conveniences, e.g. heated towel racks and remote controlled AC (yes I needed to cool the room despite being Ireland in November and it was great to have AC). The room was large, the included breakfast was delicious and served by extremely thoughtful servers. By far the best thing about the hotel was the staff! Without a doubt this was the best hotel staff that my wife and I have ever experienced. They did things for us that you wouldn't have asked for but realized you appreciated (got the car in the rain, carried bags whenever they possibly could, etc.). Best of all they found ways to help us without our asking and without our feeling guilty they were doing things for us. Everyone had a real sense of humor which was such a nice change (or maybe they were just trained to laugh at my probably poor "Dad Jokes"), either way it was great. An example of the level of thoughtfulness occurred as we checked out. I told the wonderful young woman at the check out desk that we loved the turn down chocolates (an Irish brand not available in the USA) and that we would like to buy a small bag if possible. She excused herself for a minute and came back with a large box of the chocolates as well as a hotel branded chocolate bar. She wouldn't take money and cheerfully gave us the chocolates! I truly regret that I didn't get her name to call out here, nor did I have Euros on hand to show my appreciation. Her actions made our departure such a wonderful experience. The Hayfield Manor is a "higher end" hotel than we usually stay at but if I am ever back in Cork I will gladly book a stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
