08/09/2025: Disappointed that they got 3 of our 5 orders wrong. We accepted the wrong orders to not waste time but we had to pay for the more expensive meal than what we actually ordered.

08/08/2025: A stellar meal in Athlone. A real focus on local produce, and expert handling. Rabbit and black pudding ballotine to start, a chocolate and cherry Mille feuille to finish, all homemade breads and the best cheese crackers have ever had. A recommendation to visit from anywhere.

08/08/2025: Excellent little restaurant. Went for the more expensive menu as fillet steak was on it. Every course was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Service was spot on. If I'm ever in Athlone again then I will be sure to eat here.

14/09/2025: Exceptional pub. When we arrived, it was packed and we had to wait a quarter of an hour. They offered to share a table with another American couple, providing a chance to socialize. The food was excellent; try the stew, it's worth it. They serve food until 9:30 PM, after which they give way to music. I think there are different performers every night. In our case, we listened to a famous Irish bagpipe player along with two other musicians, and needless to say, they were brilliant. You can really feel the Irish spirit of joy and conviviality.

01/09/2025: By the time we made our reservations, the only seating left was for 21:15. It was absolutely worth the wait. And we never felt rushed, nor were our dishes anything less than they would have been earlier. We spent 29 days touring Ireland, UK and Iceland, and the seafood linguini I was served that night was far and away the best dish of food on the entire trip. The starters, the bread and butter, the desserts and the service were all as good as I've ever experienced. Highly recommend!

19/07/2025: We had our intimate civil wedding at the school house. I honestly cannot rate it highly enough. Everything was absolutely perfect. The events director Laura made everything effortless from our first contact she responded quickly, allowed us make edits to our set menu, and organized our hotel rooms for guest with different needs. Everything was so well organized and communicated to us so we could relax on the day. On the actual day, the food and staff were amazing! Everyone especially the bartenders were fantastic taking care of orders and checking in regularly for refills and cleaning off tables. And while the actual wedding was perfect, the rooms themselves were wonderful and cozy for us and all of our guests. So comfy and spacious for getting ready. I would highly recommend the School House to anyone looking to celebrate their special occasion.

04/09/2025: Beautiful fish stew, really tasty focaccia brought after we ordered, the service was very friendly and capable, the atmosphere was buzzy on a Wednesday night. We really enjoyed it.

19/08/2025: The best pint in Ireland! Incredible chowder. Crab sandwiches to dream about. And best of all the welcome is always so warm to our whole family, including the kids and our little dogs. There have been some changes over the 40 years I’ve been coming here but the feel that Teresa nurtured has never changed - it has always been a special place and I feel it always will be.

14/08/2025: As a vegetarian customer room 8 is my absolute favourite cafe to visit. They have such a diverse vegetarian menu and cam cater many other menu options to your needs changing most dishes from conventional to vegetarian to vegan . The food always is of excellent quality and great taste. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is nice. It's a very busy spot often at times have to wait for a table but this just shows how excellent the food is .

04/09/2025: Definitely a local’s place but in a good way. Next to the Glasnevin cemetery and easy walk through the cemetery to the Botanic gardens.

03/09/2025: The Gravediggers is Dublins brightest shining gem. Its a beautifully maintained, traditional country pub which has remained true to form long after Dublins suburbs expanded to envelop it. This pub is absolutely drenched in atmosphere. Beautiful darkwood floorboards and wood pannelled snugs draw the eye down the bar through to a fireplace; a gorgeous feature which was often used in winters past. In the summer, patrons can drink their pints in the sun at the gates of Glasnevin Cemetery. The staff are amazing, the Guinness is by far the best the city has to offer...this is easily my favorite pub in Dublin. No question.

16/08/2025: Great breakfast menu all cooked to a high standard. The setting is great with lots of Godfather / Mafia pictures which makes it interesting. The staff were excellent and the service of a high standard!
