Six of us ate here last night. We had a beautiful meal. The atmosphere, service and quality of the food was excellent. We'll definitely be back. 3 of us had the monkfish and scallops, two steaks and I had the bacon. We all licked our plates The deserts were gorgeous also. Thank you.

A delightful meal with impeccable, knowledgeable but relaxed and informal service. The food was extremely good, and ambience very enjoyable. I unreservedly recommend Fenton’s.

I wish someone had flagged these things for me in advance, because I would’ve gone to one of the other well-reviewed restaurants in town. I chose Fentons thinking they’d have a cozy fire going in the fireplace on a cold night — they didn’t — and unfortunately, the overall experience fell short: • It took about 20 minutes just to place our order. • Our appetizer (4 oysters and a goat cheese crostini) didn’t arrive for 45 minutes (since we first sat down). • When I asked if the oysters were big, I was told no — but they definitely were, which was misleading. • The restaurant was very loud, making conversation difficult. • My main dish, “seared monkfish and scallops,” had only two scallops total, which felt stingy given the price. Though, it was tasty. • I was charged €6 for a tiny side salad. The menu layout makes this easy to misinterpret (see the highlighted section — very misleading). • Unlike every other place we dined in Cork and Killarney, they refused to split our check, which was frustrating. We left incredibly annoyed — this turned out to be our most expensive meal of the trip, and it was not worth it… mostly due to the service.
