The Fish Box in An daingean

I wanted to like them more than I did, but ultimately found them above average. Service was challenged with large crowds, but still a knock on the review. Prices also higher than they should be is another knock. The food saved the review which is why I came. The fish n' chips was probably the best I had in Ireland. Would I return is debatable. 3.5 rounding up.

Great little spot, seafood chowder was lovely and creamy although I was left feeling a little short changed by the portion size of the spiced calamari. At 5 pieces max and 12euro thats 2.40 per ring. They were tasty but still I was a little taken aback. What was more shocking than that was a couple next to us who ordered enough to feed them for a week. Around 7 dishes between the two of them and their 7yo child. As speechless as I was, my shock reached a climax upon being asked to add a 15% tip, which im sure Americans would have no issue with but feels quite the tall order to me. We didn't order any drinks, plenty nice pubs around for that

Super fresh fish and chips and calamari - that can be made gluten!! Our server was also great (Kian). He was quick with our food/orders and great to chat with. Strongly recommend for lunch in Dingle!

You know a restaurant is REALLY GOOD when you have to wait for a table. Such was the case on my first ever visit to the U.K. and Ireland, and the Fish Box restaurant in the picturesque village of Dingle!! (I'm Canadian.🇨🇦🇨🇦) Locals recommended the place, and the pleasant young man who was host called me back when a table became available. This place has it all - great, quality food that is well prepared (the best fish and chips I had on my entire trip with a wonderful spring green salad and dressing); a clean well-laid out restaurant; exception service; and a proud family-owned business that have been fishermen for around 100 years and have their own vessel to catch their seafood fresh!! Do yourself a favour and make a reservation at the Fish Box in Dingle. You'll be glad you did!! 👍😃

Brilliant food and service! Our server we didn't catch his name but we spoke a bit he was from Bulgaria originally he was a lovely waiter and was very pleasant to speak with. Thank you for the amazing food and service

Big portion on the sampler. Easily feeds 2. the darkest one upset my stomach a little after eating but everything was great sea food.
