The Long Valley in Cork

As a proud Corkman who lives only 10 minutes away, I’m almost embarrassed to admit that today was my first time eating in the Long Valley. I’d tried a few times before, but it was always packed—which says a lot about the place. I’m delighted I finally made it in. The food was excellent, the portions were generous, and the staff were friendly, welcoming and professional. To top it all off, the bill was incredibly reasonable for the quality and amount of food. It’s easy to see why this place has such a great reputation. A proper Cork institution that’s well worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back—those sandwiches have more than earned their reputation as some of the best in Cork.

Pretty bar, good food and beers!

If you are ever in Cork city, you have to drop into the long valley it's like a right of passage experiencing their famous door step sandwich 🥪, every time I go there I always have the Corned beef salad sandwich, taste and enjoy

Inexpensive, pub-like atmosphere with its dark wood and vintage photos. All the tables were taken this Monday at lunchtime. It has to be said that they make sandwiches and their chowder is amazing! A great place for a shopping break. Nothing to do with the restaurant, but €18 (about 3 hours) for covered parking in the city center is a bit of a deterrent!

In addition to a small concert, the atmosphere there is absolutely amazing!

Great pub, perfect service, and the beer and Irish stew were excellent. We'll definitely be back if we're ever in the area again.

Very nice quaint pub, with a friendly atmosphere. The service and food was excellent. Can highly recommend the Seafood Chowder, which is made daily with the local fresh fish. Delicious! Chicken curry is very good too.! Could hear some traditional tunes being played in the snug, and it sounded great!

Excellent food and great friendly service. Had lunch here twice and dinner once. Could not fault a thing - beer, soup and stew were great, and the sandwiches were unreal !
