Really really expected to love Bang under Eric Matthews. Really enjoyed both of my visits to Kickys and I am a huge fan of the Basque Country that has clearly inspired this restaurant. But it falls a bit short. We had a pre theatre sitting, so 5:15. We got there and the downstairs was v quiet, maybe one other couple. Another couple came in just after us and were sat right next to us which for 20 mins or so in an empty restaurant with seats packed together felt really awkward. We could hear each other table speak. it was just awkward. We got cocktails and were handed a wine menu, the server didn't take us thru the menu. We picked our own bottle and put in our order food (I mean, thats fine but was expecting a bit more from the server here, this place is not cheap) Food was really good, like really really good. Only little let down was the monkfish which we probably didn't need. It was a little over cooked. Everything else, the rice, the tortilla, the croquettas were stunning, wouldn't have been out of place in san sebastian. There was ALOT of aoili, pretty much with every dish which is amazing by itself but we ended up getting too much of it. Probably our fault. Last bit we didn't like was when we called for the cheque we were met with a QR code to leave a review on Google for them. I dunno, that just feels odd and out of place and not what you would expect in a place that BANG is pitching itself as. I'll finish by saying that the place has so much potential, its exciting, its cool, the people working there are talented for sure. The food for the most part is excellent. I just think they are over thinking it

Excellent night out here. Carlos served us all night and was most kind . The food was exceptional , and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was brilliant and we were treated so well all evening. The striploin and the Duck were beautiful and the omelette was the nicest thing I had in a long time. I left very full. Thank you Carlos and the team ✌️🇮🇪💚

Incredible food and service! The quality of the dishes, the flavors, and especially the attentive staff. We'll definitely be back! I highly recommend it. Adra, Edwin, and Don particularly brightened our evening ♥️
