The Grattan in Waterford

Stopped off here for food at 4pm on a Sunday as it was rated highly by TripAdvisor. Fish & chips and the boiled ham, cabbage and mashed potato was outstanding and cooked to order. Guinness was unreal. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.

The women there was the single most welcoming, friendly person imaginable. The portions are ample, the food is hearty and rich, and the atmosphere is incomparable. Stop in, stay a while and treat yourself to the best pub experience I've had in a good long while!

Fantastic from the moment we entered..First the owners greetings and then the wonderful dinner!! Delicious Fish and chips, Chicken curry and chicken wings !!! The Grattan just has that something special!

Had dinner on a Monday night. Lovely Irish meal. Friendly staff, made us feel very welcome. There's not many people in the pub at that time. Had their special, lamb chop with 2 types of potatoes and lovely gravy. Kids ordered fish and chips, curry rice. Wife ordered stew. The chips, they are to die for. Soft on the inside, crispy outside. I asked the friendly lady staff, she can only divulge that they use marris piper potatoes, didn't tell us how they make it so nice.

I’ve lived in Ireland almost 5 years and this is the kind of service that should represent Ireland. Never been here before but treated like an old friend and food that’s tastes like it’s fresh from the farm and made with love. Came here because of the reviews. It didn’t disappoint. Will be back!

Best chips (french fries) I have EVER had. Came with the fish and chips. The chips were fat, hot, really crispy on the outside and like mashed potato inside. Great flavor too. The pub is authentic, traditional and welcoming.
