A brilliant experience post visit to Luggwoods for Easter event. Impressed from the beginning to the end. Spottless a d welcoming. Great food choice and amazing food, including a great kids menu. Cool fish tanks and very friendly staff. Love that you can see into the kitchen. Always gives me confidence that the food will be top notch which it was. Very highly recommended, and I will visit again soon.

What a lovely hidden treasure. Really good spot for (in our case) a middle week Birthday celebration. Staff were great, attentive, friendly, helpful, professional. Excellent but not at all intrusive. Food was delicious! Good portions, beautifully cooked and served. We only had small drink but everything arrived quickly. Restaurant was clean, specious but warm ambiance and with a good atmosphere. I visited my best friend as she came from US and we have not seen each other for almost 2 years. It was her Birthday. I did asked for a candle but the Staff who was on duty also came and sang a Happy Birthday 😊I know silly, but that was very special - THANK YOU GUYS! And we sat next to the aquarium with many fishes! I would definitely recommend and I will be back!

I had a wonderful baked whole fish dinner here a couple of months ago and it was truly outstanding. Herself had their excellent fish and chips, which again, was excellent. So, we decided to go back, this time I had the roast beef Sunday lunch and she had the fish and chips. The Sunday lunch was just okay. I know that sounds perhaps ridiculous when okay is pretty alright for some places. It was perfectly edible, everything was cooked well, there was just nothing about it that you could wow about. It just struck me while I was eating it, there was nothing that I ate that I thought to myself that is excellent. Her fish and chips was excellent, the tempura batter is brilliant and the fish is really good. Maybe I was spoiled by the Bream at the earlier visit. Anyway, the service is excellent, staff are friendly and the food is okay, if the baked fish is on and you like it, go for it.

Loved if this place was on my doorstep..but every time im up that way with family im defo in there for food and a drinks

Nice ambiance, attentive service food ok. Garlic prawns were awful little or no garlic tasteless, spinach mash had no spinach and apple crumble could have been warmer

Food was beautiful. I had a steak. Only thing I’d say is Sautéed onions and mushrooms should be included with the steak for the price. In comparison you can get a beautiful “10oz Steak, on a bed of sautéed onions & mushrooms, portion of pepper sauce on the side, chips with 3 large onion rings placed on top of the steak “. All for €27 in the Spawell. In saying that the surroundings, presentation and staff in Annie Mays is great. The price would persuade me to try other steak houses before returning. Feb 2024 tried here again. Food beautiful had the roast beef, only thing I’d say is the portion size of beef was less than half of what their sister restaurant An Poitin Stil would give you. Place was packed. Service was good. I will go again but both the Poitin and Joel’s seem to be more generous with their meat portions. Still good value all the same.
