The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the gardens are simply stunning. The playground is fantastic, easily one of the best around. There are plenty of scenic trails, perfect for walking or jogging. (Dogs friendly too)
The indoor coffee shop serves coffee and food, though nothing particularly special.
Every Saturday morning, the park hosts a lively Parkrun event, adding to the vibrant community feel.
With breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere, it's a wonderful spot to spend a few relaxing hours.

Lovely space with a really nice playground—perfect for kids to burn off some energy. There are plenty of benches around for picnics, which makes it ideal for a relaxing family day out. You do have the option to park closer to the playground, but honestly, the walk through the forest adds to the experience. The amenities are great—clean toilets and everything you’d need—and the views are just beautiful.

Ardgillan Castle
Ardgillan Castle
Ardgillan Castle, located between Balbriggan and Skerries in North County Dublin, is a charming 18th-century country house set amidst 194 acres of parkland overlooking the Irish Sea. Originally named Prospect House, the central section was constructed in 1738 by Robert Taylor, with the west and east wings added in the late 1800s. The estate remained the family home of the Taylors for over two centuries before being sold in 1962. In 1982, Dublin County Council acquired the demesne, and it is now managed by Ardgillan Castle Ltd., under the auspices of Fingal County Council .Ardgillan Castle+3The Irish Sun+3Fingal County Council+3Ardgillan Castle+2Ardgillan Castle+2The Irish Sun+2Ardgillan Castle+1Fingal County Council+1

We recently discovered a true hidden gem — Ardgillan Castle. It was one of those rare moments when a place perfectly matches your mood. We were greeted by an incredibly friendly and passionate guide who, instead of a traditional tour, gave us the freedom to explore on our own, at our own pace — and that was a real gift. 🗝️ No rush, no crowds — hardly anyone was there, which made the sense of solitude even more special. We enjoyed every room, every view from the windows, as if the castle had opened its doors just for us. It was easy to imagine how the Taylor family once lived there and how the house breathed with quiet nobility.
If you’re tired of crowded tourist spots and looking for something authentic, peaceful, and atmospheric, this is the place for you.
