Muckross House in

Wonderful house with original furnishings. A must-see if you're in the area.

Spent a lovely afternoon visiting the house and the garden. Both where amazing. The staff and Patsy especially where so friendly and kind. My mum is a wheelchair user and I have a hidden disability. It was very accessible and staff where a great help. Would highly recommend Muckross house.

Muckross Victorian Mansion & Gardens, houses many attractions, the beautifully conserved house, a working heritage Pottery studio, Weaving studio and Book Bindery sits in the craft centre. Along with a traditional farm and delicious restaurant Muckross House is a delightful visit for all ages. Situated in an expansive garden & park within the exquisite Killarney National Park, blue lakes nestled at the feet of verdant mountains. Muckross is a must see for visitors and locals alike.

>> I highly recommend visiting Muckross House. Having visited a few houses in Ireland, I consider Muckross House to be the absolute best. Almost every room is open to visitors, and you have the opportunity to learn about the history of the Muckross family. You can also stroll around the grounds and visit the truly amazing and magnificent Abbey. Also Muckross Garden restaurant is excellent, they offer hot food, sandwiches, desserts, and a wide variety of drinks—plus plenty of space for everyone and good service.

It's a beautiful 19th-century mansion situated in a stunning setting. The interior is well worth a visit, as it's meticulously maintained and decorated. Upon entering, you're given an explanatory map (available in several languages) to guide you through the rooms. Even if you don't wish to visit the interior, it's still worthwhile to stroll through the gardens and woods. Located within Killarney National Park, you can easily spend hours walking or hiking along the lake, taking a horse-drawn carriage ride, or a boat trip. Next to the mansion, you'll find a restaurant, a souvenir shop, and the farms are also open for tours.

Great experience 👍 This mansion will tell you about aristocracy life in 18-19th centuries. You can imagine life back there with it's lord's luxury and poorest of servants. There are different levels of house are open for the full experience.

Well worth doing the tour of the house as it is beautifully inside with so much history.

Absolutely incredible grounds and history preserved. The self guided tour was nice so that we could go at our own pace. We decided to take a horse drawn carriage to the Torc waterfall and highly recommend it. The gardens were beautiful and amazing greenhouses. Keep up the great work!
