Asador in Dublin

Down from Donegal for a midweek gig. We had been recommended Asador by a friend. My significant other is a pescetarian and loved the look of the non meat elements on the menu so we thought we'd give it a go. Firstly, we were eating early so had the place to ourselves to begin with, and how lucky we were as the staff were SO friendly. Food wise we shared 3 small plates and had a main dish each. We went Porcini orzo, Cabbage and Crab for the small plates. All incredible but the standout was the cabbage! I don't know what witchcraft they worked on it but it was as far from the vegetable of my childhood that it's possible to get. For mains we went Swordfish and Monkfish. The Swordfish was the best I've eaten and the Monkfish was shown no mercy either. We had a smoked tenderstem broccoli side which was also superb. For dessert we shared the basque cheesecake which made me wish I'd the room to eat it all myself. Then to finish we had 2 coffees which was the best coffee I've drunk in a very long time. Maybe if you read this review you can tell me what coffee you served us? We also loved the quirky prints on the wall. Thank you to all of you for making us feel so welcome. It was the perfect start to a great night. I am counting the days until I get back to try the meat! Big love!

Exceptionally high standard of Barbecue. The seafood is just top drawer. Great friendly helpful service. My second time here and honestly one of my favourite restaurants.

Went for lunch and on a quiet day waited over an hour for a simple steak sandwich! In the end I had to take it to go. Ruined what would have been a nice lunch. Not worth going back.

Great spacious but still cosy restaurant. The food is nothing short of amazing. Even compared to FX Buckley this beats it any time...

We had an amazing server with great recommendations. The steaks were super good quality and tender. The side dishes (brocolli) had an awesome smokey taste to it. The wine was very well priced and really well paired. Restaurant is not packed, plenty of space, not too loud and with a cool open kitchen. Top restaurant in Dublin and of the best dinners ive had, ever!!!

Great restaurant with great food

We came here twice during our trip to Dublin. Once with a smaller group for an intimate dinner, and another night with our entire team of 40 people. The food was great, we had appetizers like bread and dips (mushroom, tahini, and two others), beet salad, yellowfin tuna, and gambas. Everyone was happy with their respective selections. For mains, the fish and the steaks were a great hit. I loved the ribeye steak and the fillet, both best served Medium rare. The bar served some tasty cocktails, including a Whisky sour, a nice negroni, and old fashioned. The wine selection was also on point, we ordered a French Malbec that paired well with our steaks. Most importantly, the staff took exceptionally great care of us, especially on the first night when we did not have a reservation and walked in closer to closing time. We stayed late and Ronan went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. I highly recommend Asador, will be back when we're back in town.
