Balfes in Dublin

Nice place for some brunch! We went here for brunch and I had the waffles with bacon. I felt that it was very pricey for what I was served, which was quite bland. The atmosphere is also a bit stifling as the tables are very close together, along with the place being filled to the brim. The service however was very accommodative and I'm grateful that they were able to keep my table when I was running late. All in all, the food is nice, but not exceptional, and it leaves more to be desired at the price point which it maintains.

Went there to celebrate a son's graduation with extended family. We had the early-bird menu which was very good value and offered plenty from the main a-la-carte. The location is perfect and upstairs is the lovely lobby of the Westbury Hotel where we had a pre-meal celebratory drink. Particular shout-out to the team who were uniformly good natured, and recognised our special occasion spontaneously without any prompting. I'd recommend the pan-fried gnocci ( only if you like mushrooms though). Our party also were particularly taken with the steak frites.

Beautiful restaurant in the heart of town. Have been a couple times for breakfast only, it has been super every time, have gotten the full bodybyrne breakfast, and the omelette. They were very nice. Lovely staff and nice holiday buzz around the restaurant

We visited Balfes Restaurant again on the 3rd of June, and once more, it absolutely lived up to its reputation as one of our favourite spots in Dublin. From start to finish, the evening was a delight. We kicked things off with an Aperol Spritz, which was perfectly made—refreshing, balanced, and the ideal way to begin our meal. Every course that followed was of the highest quality: the starter was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour, the main course was cooked to perfection, and the dessert was the perfect sweet ending. One of the things we love about Balfes is their impressive wine and champagne menu. There’s a fantastic selection to suit every taste and budget, which makes choosing the perfect pairing for your meal a real pleasure. While all the staff were wonderful, a special mention has to go to our waitress, Ena. Her professional yet genuinely friendly service truly elevated our experience. She was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and her warm personality made us feel so welcome. It’s rare to come across someone who can turn a great meal into a truly memorable occasion, but Ena managed it effortlessly. We’ve been to Balfes several times now, and it never disappoints. The combination of top-quality food, a vibrant atmosphere, and outstanding service keeps us coming back again and again. Highly recommended!

Great place...service was a little slow on a Friday evening, but overall a really good experience.

Just go for coffee. Very attentive and pleasant service.

Love Balfes! Excellent food, amazing service and fantastic ambiance

Muy impresionado con Balfe , me he dejado caer en un par de veces para una copa rápida, pero noté la comida que sale de la cocina que parecía acogedor. Esta noche tuvimos un almuerzo / cena temprano. Toda la comida era de excelente calidad. Destacaron las gambas pero todo fue maravilloso. Personal encantador, pero volveremos para hacer nuestro camino a través de este menú.

Cuatro de nosotros para almorzar un lunes. Bastante ocupado - en el buen sentido. Personal amable y buena comida. Recomiendo el sándwich de carne. Sé que está unido a un hotel pero no lo siente. Muy agradable. ¿Es caro? Quizá, pero Dublín es una ciudad cara.
