Too expensive for the quality, even though the food was fine, it was not an „experience“

This was actually my second visit, and I had the most amazing starter (the Gambas) and a fantastic steak. I wasn’t too impressed with the mocktails, but that was the only downside. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the service was excellent. I’d definitely recommend giving them a try!

My friend took me for an early bday lunch and it was aaaamazing! True love. Even better than the delicious food was the terrific team, everyone was just incredibly professional, kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!

The vegan breakfast are very tasty!

We had an excellent experience at Balfes, where the service was exceptional, and the food was absolutely delicious. This restaurant is part of the Westbury Hotel, and I highly recommend visiting to experience it for yourself!

While visiting Dublin, we stopped in here for dinner. I ordered the Dexter beef burger that comes with fries. The burger was average, not anything special. The wait time of 40 minutes for a burger is unacceptable. My wife liked the Pan-fried gambas that comes with a crusty baguette with garlic butter. I had one of her baguettes and thought it was delicious. My wife did not care for the Poke Bowl she ordered. My sister loved her Spicy pasta arrabbiata that comes with a cherry tomato, basil & vegan parmesan. Great option for a Vegetarian. Overall, the food was good but the service was very slow.

This is my third visit to Balfes this week - one it is really close to office and more importantly, the food is wonderful and service is impeccable. I had Red Curry Fish on Tuesday night: the fish was tender and the aroma of red curry was so appetizing. The slow cooked lamb shank tonight was equally noteworthy, fork tender meat falling off the bone, and creamy mashed potato with slightly salty jus. And in between on Wednesday night, I had fish and chips. The haddock was perfectly cooked except that the batter was a bit too thick, and it seemed also to have been refried, as the batter texture was a bit chewy. Regardless, all three nights I had lovely meals at Balfres, and enjoyed greatly the friendly wait staff!

Highly recommended in a competitive restaurant market. Excellent take on oysters. Delicious truffle fries. Not every establishment lets you have Sancerre by the glass. The best vegan brownie and ice cream I’ve ever had. I’m secretly in love with my serving partner, Julie. Please marry me.

Wonderful service and delicious food

We started with fresh oysters for myself and my wife the crab croquettes salad The entrees were the cod filet and the seafood skillet and creamy bisque The latter packed with mussels clams shrimp and fish chunks The desserts were crème brûlée and a chocolate tart The service was friendly and not pretentious
