Balrothery Inn in Balrothery

My wife and I took my parents to Balrothery Inn today for dinner , the staff were excellent and when they saw my Father was elderly and slow on his feet they accommodated us with a suitable table for easy access, the staff were lovely and polite and attentive considering they were flat out busy , the food was excellent we all cleared our plates , I was watching the staff being so attentive with other senior citizens and people in wheel chairs credit to them all , a special thank you to Aaron Gough and the ladies that attended to us , I will definitely be back soon , thank you all so much

We stopped for lunch on the way to the airport from Juluanstown and we were welcomed like old friends by a lovely young lady who could not have been more helpful. We opted for sandwiches, which were delicious. The inn has an old world charm, which added to the experience, A very pleasant lunch and one of the best pints of Guinness we had all trip.

Another firm favourite both for Lunch and entertaining visitors , food is good , especially daily specials , roasts , deserts, home made soups , service generally is good , by can be hit and miss when it gets busy , has lots of comfortable coves , large dining room , main area is a bit without atmosphere, food is worth the price , Bar has excellent pint of Guiness , more of a winter location but still worth a visit if you are passing for lunch etc , plenty of parking , fish of the day is excellent here as well , as is the lamb , roast beef , ham , fresh fruit pavaloa is beyond sinful ( v good ) 😊

This wonderful stop is in IRELAND! 🤩 Our food was delicious. Staff was very sweet. Very helpful to us, as we were first time visitors. Loved the atmosphere in this place. It has so much character, so many things to look at. Quaint place. I would definitely recommend! If ever in Ireland again, I would definitely return to The Balrothery Inn!

Eat here regularly on Sundays and the odd staff night out with work.the food is very good,quick and hot.plenty of options too,we have a child with special needs and from day one they always look after us where possible with quite table.the best part of this place is the staff especially on Sundays.youll find it hard to get better food near by.

For the price of the food i expected more. It is quite expensive and the serving size is small. The staff however were very nice

Fabulous pub / restaurant. It's more of a restaurant with a carpark outside. Very busy on weekends. A very historic place with photos of the old village on the walls. Staff are friendly and informative.

The staff is attentive, which adds to the overall positive experience. However, there are also some drawbacks: the food order took a long time to be taken, despite the absence of other guests, creating the impression that customers were forgotten. The atmosphere could use some improvement as well—there is a noticeable smell of food in the dining area, old furniture, and a general lack of coziness, although the fireplace area stands out with its pleasant ambiance. It is also worth mentioning that the sauce (tomato with grilled paprika) served with the dish of the day, sea bass, was not a good match, as white sauce pairs better with fish. Overall, the establishment has its strengths, but there are areas that need improvement.
