Bar Italia in Dublin

Good points and bad points. Overall a nice spot with friendly and professional staff, but likely not somewhere we will be rushing back to. Our main issue was the steak my wife got was near flavourless. This was all the more frustrating given I brought her there for her birthday. On the plus side, the tiramisu was very tasty.

The Greek sea bass was perfectly prepared and paired nicely with the recommended wine.

There are Italian restaurants in Dublin, then there’s Bar Italia Ristorante. Simply awesome. The wait staff is professional and well versed with the ristorante’s menu. The wine card… outstanding. If you follow my reviews you know I’m definitely a fan of Sicilian wines. We found our favorite bottle of Tancredi 2018. Simply beautiful. Michele had the Strozzapreti con sugo al brasato di bue and I had the Strozzapreti/Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. Spectacular. I could have been sitting at my favorite restaurant in Taormina. Our desserts were equally as delicious. Needless to say, I now have a favorite Italian Ristorante in Dublin.

If I could, I would give it one more star... The food was impeccable... A spectacular carbonara... The service from the staff was impeccable... I didn't take any photos; I was just busy savoring the delights they served me, and I realized I didn't take a single photo when I wanted to share this with the world...

What can I say that hasn’t already been said. Absolutely fantastic meal last evening Welcomed on arrival and shown to our table almost immediately. Food and wine were excellent, service was superb without being overbearing. The restaurant was totally spotless with a lovely atmosphere. No complaints, we will definitely return next time we are in Dublin…..

Bar Italia Ristorante ligt aan de Lower Ormond Quay vlak aan de Millenium Bridge over de Liffey. Het is bye far het restaurant in Dublin waar we het lekkerst hebben gegeten. Het is er razend druk, zonder reservatie lijkt het mij zeer moeilijk om er binnen te geraken. De bediening gebeurt grotendeels door echte Italianen, zeer vriendelijk en met Italiaanse flair zoals het hoort. De tent zat stampvol maar toch was er niemand die zich hier moest aan storen, alles liep als een trein. Wij namen beiden de suggestie Maltagliati con Aragosta, een hemelse 🦞 pasta met een lekkere Italiaanse Pinot Noir van de knappe wijnkaart, beiden echte aanraders. Na desserts en koffie konden we ons diner samenvatten in 1 woord: Perfetto !
