Bar Italia in Dublin

A safe bet for Italians! A very refined atmosphere, a very nice place! The food is good Italian for a foreign country, recommended for those who want a pasta dish or a good main course! The staff is very kind and friendly, greetings to Giorgia!

Dec 2025. Went for dinner on a Sunday evening. We hadn't booked but the managed to fit us in. I had the Carbonara and my wife had the Bolognaise which were both delicious. Would recommend.

Beautiful restaurant a must visit, it will not disappoint.

A brilliant eating experience from the time we arrived until we left. The Maitre'd was hugely impressive and really made us feel special. My starter, Winter Caprese was excellent with a green pesto that was really moreish. Mains of slow cooked beef cheek with in house pasta and soltimbocca were excellent though the veal might have hotter but the sage sauce was superb. Tiramiso for dessert was the best I've had in any restaurant. All accompanied by a Montepulciano Reserva which was excellent. Will definitely return with a group so they can enjoy it as much as we did.

Since discovering Bar Italia over 10 years ago, we always treat ourselves to its delicious, authentic cuisine whenever we're in Dublin. The service is very friendly and the staff are knowledgeable about the dishes. I'll gladly return and recommend it to my friends who are visiting Dublin.

Lovely place, delicious food! Service was good and attentive. We loved the wine and the desert was so good. €23 for a pasta dish reminds me of london prices, so for a couple in our 20s this was a treat for sure. We were tucked into a corner with a fire alarm right next to us which wasn’t the prettiest part of the restaurant, despite the fact we booked. But it was 7pm Sunday night, so this place was busy! Being tucked away meant we could have some great conversations though hahah.
