My husband and me just had an amazing culinary dinner experience here. We absolutely loved the food but also the wine pairing that came with it. The staff was very experienced and friendly and we loved the cozy atmosphere. Hope to visit soon again!

Overall, the dishes were very well prepared, and the alcohol offered paired well (even though we had a suspicion that one of them was corked).
The service surprised us; it wasn't what you'd expect from a restaurant of this standing, but we later realized that it was a matter of choice. It's the equivalent of what you'd expect from a simple French brasserie, for example.
The main focus of this meal was the cheese: how can you serve cheese oozing with water? It must have been sitting out in the open for several hours or in the heat, and that's clearly not considered a serious matter for a gourmet restaurant. Their textures were as expected: like plastic.

Bastible feels like a neighbourhood gem with a Michelin star polish – relaxed, welcoming, and serving some truly gorgeous food. The flavours are spot-on, with dishes that are creative but never fussy, and the wine list has plenty of gems to match. The only downside was the pacing: there were long gaps between courses, which took a bit of the energy out of the evening. Still, when the plates did arrive, they were worth the wait – thoughtful, seasonal cooking in a cosy Dublin setting.

We were blown away by our experience at Bastible. We did both the regular and pescatarian tasting menus, with one wine pairing and one cocktails + wine. Everything was outstanding from start to finish.
The seeded sourdough with cultured butter set the tone, followed by beautifully balanced and creative dishes like the razor clam with shiso and gooseberry, and the Boyne Valley blue tartlet with fermented sweetcorn. Personal highlights included the scallops with salt-baked golden beetroot, the slow-cooked hamachi, and Mark’s mushroom custard with smoked bone marrow, rich, thoughtful, and perfectly executed.
Service was warm, professional, and attentive without being stiff. A lovely birthday gesture with a candle and sweets made the evening even more special. One of the best meals we’ve had in Dublin, refined but never pretentious. Highly recommended.

Elevated but casual experience with an elevated but approachable menu, modern and chic, great wine pairing, delicious and surprising. One pescatarian menu and the other meat and we both really enjoyed our individual portions. Staff was very attentive and welcoming and human. Great birthday dinner!

My friends and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Bastible this past Saturday, and it was everything you'd expect from a Michelin-starred establishment.
While every dish was delicious, a few stood out. The blue cheese and corn tartlet was so good. It was an unexpected combination that worked beautifully.
Next up, the beef tartare was simply outstanding.
And the mushroom custard *chef’s kiss*
Beyond these highlights, the service was impeccable.

Maravillosa experiencia.
