Bastible in Dublin

We had a lovely lunch at Bastible and the food was delicious. The portions however were really small (even for a tasting menu) and we unfortunately left hungry. We did enjoy our experience but it would be good if the staff didn’t rush you out - they took our final plates away and replaced it immediately with the bill and card reader which felt a little inhospitable for a Michelin restaurant. We found somewhere else for a coffee afterwards! Would still recommend for taste of the food.

Incredible food and brilliant service. Thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes we were given, especially the venison and scallops.

The set menu is thoughtful and well balanced — clean flavours, seasonal ingredients, and real respect for the product. Each course feels intentional, with a clear sense of progression and excellent attention to detail. The fish course in particular stood out — beautifully cooked, delicate, and well balanced, showing great technique and restraint. I should note that I couldn’t fully judge the game dishes, as I’m not personally a fan of game meat. That said, the overall execution across the menu felt confident and precise. Service is calm, warm, and professional, and the atmosphere is cosy and relaxed — ideal for a special evening without feeling formal. Highly recommended, and I’d be happy to return.

Great food and super nice staff! I booked for my graduation dinner for 4 people about 3 weeks before. My sister flew in as a surprise so my boyfriend called them to modify the booking a bit after I booked but asked them not to send me an email about the modification. They were very helpful and eager to join in on the surprise.

A great experience, after my daughter's master's degree. The playfulness of the flavors is especially noteworthy, the structure of the menu, the courtesy of the service, the desserts all made the early evening pleasant! Thank you!

Amazing food, service and wine pairing. Should have michelin star!

Recently visited with my friends as we wanted to beat the Xmas rush dining. This was our second time in Bastible, and once again an unforgettable experience! The good was delectable! All the dishes carefully designed to really awaken your taste buds! Couldn't tell u which one was my favorite as they were all superb! If u go I recommend to go for the wine pairing which complements the dishes beautifully!

Excellent culinary experience. The menu is creative, brilliantly executed and beautifully presented. I loved the diverse mix of flavors and textures. The courses were uniformly excellent, so it’s hard to single out winners but…I absolutely loved the cabbage tower, Coolatin cheddar custard, haddock tartlet and chocolate cremeux/blackberry sorbet dessert. I also appreciated a more measured pacing to the courses which affords a bit more breathing and conversation time between plates compared to some restaurants that seem obsessed with delivering the next course seconds after the previous course is complete. The waitstaff is approachable, personable and always in motion. I can’t recall a time when I’ve seen a higher performing front-of-the-house crew operating at their level of effectivenss or demonstrating such a cooperative, team-oriented attitude. They’re very familiar with the menu and are able to make excellent beverage pairing suggestions. They contribute to the energy in the dining room, which only has about 10 tables for 2-4pp plus a larger 8-person table for larger groups, along with about 8 seats at a shared high top and counter extension (so definitely make a reservation). A casual atmosphere and varied background music complement this Modern Michelin experience. I look forward to returning when I’m next in Dublin. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
