Berkana Bakery in Waterford

To me, this place is a hidden Gem in Waterford. We have eaten there a few times now. The bread is so fresh and the sandwich combinations are really nice. I'd highly recommend it for a lunch option.

Had an excellent sandwich, spicy salami. Sizes are very generous and the bread is so fresh. Polite and prompt service.

Lovely menu of freshly prepared on the premises food, highly recommend the caprese salad and pizza.

We stopped for lunch and had a wonderful experience- the food and service were great. Staff was friendly, atmosphere comfortable. A great find!

First time ever in Berkana. The minute I walked in, the beautiful smells brought me back to Italy. The food was just beautiful. I ordered a salami sandwich and had to give half of it to my breakfast companion as it was so big. We shared his croissant - beautiful and buttery with a lovely orange glaze on it. All the bread and pasteries are home made. And every thing was beautifully fresh. Will definitely go back.

Fantastic food and excellent coffee!

Fabulous coffee, best in Ireland and my husband and I had just spent two weeks in Tuscany. Pastries and so fresh and cooked on the premises. Be sure to check out the full menu of sandwiches etc before you place your order. This cafe is more than delicious sweet pastries despite how yummy they are. Lovely friendly service from the Italian lady serving us as well as the French man who corrected our pronunciation for croissants. Xx

Absolutely amazing food, fresh and portion size vs price is very fair, great coffee, we had takeaway because it was too busy lunch time, my fussy wife loved everything and that's huge achievement! I want to recommend to everyone!

We popped into Berkana Bakery to check it out and were immediately impressed by their menu, especially the great selection of sandwiches. ​It is a wonderful, casual spot that offers everything you’d want from a local bakery: incredibly fresh sandwiches, delicious looking baked sweets, and a solid selection of both caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks. ​ ​We sat down for lunch and ordered two sandwiches, the Bresaola Pesto and the Bresaola Special. Both were absolutely fantastic—exceptionally fresh, packed with flavor, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. ​ ​The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and prompt with our order. ​Berkana offers a very relaxed and casual, making it the perfect pitstop for a midday bite. ​We are so happy we decided to stop here for lunch. If you're in Waterford and looking for a fresh, tasty meal or a sweet treat, Berkana Bakery is definitely worth a visit. We’ll certainly be back before leaving Waterford.
