We walked past Berkana when we first arrived in Waterford and noticed the sandwiches that people were eating on the patio. On our way back, we stopped for a late lunch and ordered 2 sandwiches…. The turkey special and the parm ham special. The white bread had a soft crumb and a crispy crust. An amazing masterpiece! We also had a homemade apple/raspberry tart… perfection! We chatted with the owner and came to realize that she and her partner bake and create all the breads, pastries and treats themselves! On our way out she gave us a lovely pastry. Try this cute little sandwich/salad, coffee and pastry shop…. You’ll be glad you did!

The first time I visited Waterford, I stumbled upon this bakery by chance. I went in and immediately realized it was different. Everything is made in-house, from the pastries to the bread for the sandwiches. I recommend trying the sandwiches, which are of extremely high quality. The bread is fluffy, ideal for sandwiches. I've already tried the salami and mortadella – incredible! The service is not only efficient but also friendly. A must-stop.

To me, this place is a hidden Gem in Waterford. We have eaten there a few times now. The bread is so fresh and the sandwich combinations are really nice. I'd highly recommend it for a lunch option.

McLeary's

17/09/2026: In town overnight, called into McLeary’s looking for a table for 2 without a reservation, no availability but was kindly told they’d have one in 20 mins. A brief walk by the river and we were back and table ready as promised. Staff were excellent, menu was extensive, food was excellent and atmosphere was cosy and jolly. Price was easily justified by the quality and service - I’d highly recommend and will be back if I’m in town again! 10 / 10
13/09/2026: There were 3 of us in McLeary’s for dinner and we all really enjoyed it. The food was excellent, especially the steak, which was cooked perfectly. We also had a few cocktails and they were really good. The staff were friendly and the service was great without feeling rushed. Nice atmosphere as well, very relaxed and easy going. Would definitely go back again next time we’re in Waterford.

30/08/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A total success. 100% recommended. We stumbled upon Momo almost by chance, and it turned out to be one of those places you're so glad you discovered. We had initially planned to have dinner at Emiliano's, which is very close by, but the rather unfriendly way we were treated when we arrived without a reservation made us decide to look for another option. Five minutes later, we arrived at Momo, and the contrast couldn't have been greater: from the first moment, the service was fantastic, incredibly friendly, and made us feel very comfortable. And the food lived up to the service. Spectacular. A very varied international menu, with sophisticated cuisine, complex dishes, and very well executed. We loved everything we tried. In addition, the portions are really generous. So much so that we were left wanting to try the desserts, but after everything we had eaten, it was simply impossible. The restaurant is also beautiful and very pleasant: great atmosphere, good music, and a space you just want to linger in. Excellent food, generous portions, incredibly friendly staff, and a fantastic ambiance. It was a real find, and we would definitely return. 100% recommended.
