22/05/2025: JD Wetherspoons – The Silver Penny Step inside and you’re greeted by warm wood panelling, vintage posters and low lighting that transport you straight into a classic Irish pub. It’s the perfect backdrop for a relaxed catch-up or a laid-back date night—no pretence, just genuine charm. On to the essentials: we each enjoyed four well-poured pints, and for snacks we dug into chicken bits (€4), wings (€4), strips (€4.50), plus a hearty portion of chips (€1.60) with sauce (€1.60) for dipping. Despite the generous helpings and top-notch flavour—crispy, juicy chicken and golden chips—the total bill for two came to just €60. Great atmosphere, tasty bar bites and wallet-friendly prices make The Silver Spoon a no-brainer when you want good craic without breaking the bank.
