Black Cat in Galway

The tapas here are wonderful. The portion sizes are large.

Small hotel very close to the ocean in Salthill area of Galway. The rooms are above the tapas bar downstairs. The room is extremely small. Suits one person but would probably struggle with two!

Food is excellent. Full of flavor 😋 👌 Tapas is tasty always bursting with flavor. Cosy environment and a friendly service. One of my favorites restaurants in Galway.

This is our go to restaurant. The food is consistently good, the atmosphere is very welcoming and chilled, the service is excellent and the prosecco and wine are always delicious! We usually go here in a group of between 2 and 6. It is a cosy restaurant. You do need to book in advance as this is a well known, busy restaurant. There is a large variety of tapas, each one bursting with different flavours -the chef knows how to pair/complement different flavours and tastes. The tapas come out as they are ready and the whole experience is very relaxed. I keep meaning to try other restaurants in Galway but I just cannot pass The Black Cat when I'm feeling like a nice evening out.

Beautiful and peaceful restaurant located close to the water. Every dish was really delicious and the staff were very accommodating and kind. Reasonably priced. Would definitely go again.

We didn't get a chance to eat at BlackCat, but we stayed in their hotel above the restaurant! It was the perfect place to stay for our time in Salthill, and I'd highly recommend it!

Beautifully furnished rooms, but too small if you have two big luggages. We couldn’t open them at the same time and it felt quite uncomfortable to move around in such a small space when you are on longer travels. The food at the restaurant was great!

Super location. Comfy bed and good shower. Room was compact, you wouldn’t swing a cat in it 🤣 Tea making facilities were in the hallway as there was not enough space in the bedroom, which isn’t ideal when some of the guests decided to make tea at 1 a.m. and woke me up with all the noise.

Beautiful interior located down the main street by the beach. Fantastic service with great food!!!

Absolutamente fantástica experiencia gastronómica. El ambiente era acogedor y bien pensado, con un servicio atento durante toda la noche. La comida fue entregada con prontitud y muy bien presentada. Destacaron las tiernas mejillas de ternera, el rico y suave paté de hígado, las vieiras perfectamente cocidas y el sabroso pez monje. La crema brûlée destacaba, sedosa y con una parte superior perfectamente crujiente. La única decepción fue el plato de queso, que se sintió sobreprecio por la porción y la selección. En general, una comida memorable y vale la pena una visita.
