Black Forge Inn in Dublin

Had an amazing experience at The Black Forge Inn! The steak was absolutely delicious – cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, but what really stood out was the incredible staff. Friendly, attentive, and made us feel so comfortable from start to finish. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to. Highly recommended!

We came for lunch and had a wonderful experience. We did not have a reservation and the staff was so kind in seating us, and just wonderful during our whole experience. The wings were especially amazing!

Honestly the best place I’ve ever eaten!! The service, ambiance, comfort of seating, layout, food and drinks all amazing. I live in London and it’s completely outshone even the most high end restaurants here. Each food dish was delicious and left me wanting more and the cocktails and the stout was so nice and also very generous in size. I went with my gf and even got pics with the belt really was a quality experience and can’t wait to return when I head back to Ireland.

I recently dined at Black Forge Inn and had a very enjoyable experience overall. The standout for me was definitely the staff — they were absolutely spectacular, incredibly attentive, and genuinely went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well looked after. The food itself was good and very filling. The steak was the highlight — cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. That said, I wasn’t a big fan of the potatoes or mash, which didn’t quite hit the mark for me. One unique aspect is that the steaks (€44 each) are served on a hot stone for you to cook yourself. While it’s an interesting experience, I’m not sure it justified the price. The steak does come with mash or chips, onion rings, and peppercorn sauce, which adds value, but overall I still felt it was slightly overpriced. The starters were also tasty, though a bit on the expensive side considering the portion sizes. All in all, the food was satisfying and filling, and the incredible service really elevated the experience. I’m giving it 4 stars mainly because of the price point, but I’d still recommend it for the atmosphere and top-tier staff. Great touch is that you are able to see and hold McGregors belt and have photos.

I visited The Black Forge on 18th March and, unfortunately, my experience at the bar was disappointing due to one staff member’s attitude. I ordered 2 vodka and Cokes, but the bartender misheard and said “2 vodkas and a Coke.” When I politely corrected her, she responded snappily with “yeah, I know what you mean basically,” and then questioned me again with “you sure you want it?” It made me feel like I didn’t know what I was talking about. I also waited up to 40 minutes for a Porn Star Martini while others who ordered after me were served first. I tried to be patient, knowing they might be busy, but the delay and attitude left me feeling frustrated. On a positive note, the food and drinks themselves were amazing! Security, especially Liam, was lovely—he even politely asked the staff to prioritize my drinks, which I really appreciated. Overall, I’d say the bar has great offerings, but the customer service at the bar during my visit could use some improvement.

Food was amazing, service was great. Was here a few times recently and the atmosphere was pretty flat even on a bank holiday weekend when you expect it to be busy.
