Rather unassuming from the outside, it conceals a modern restaurant with contemporary cuisine. Highly recommended!

Partner and I had breakfast here this morning. I had Salmon Benny and partner had hash browns. Lots to like such as lovely salmon and poached eggs but there was way too much salad and seeds on top which had gone limp and hard as the plate was very warm. Partner only ate a bit of his as there was cheese or something on the bottom of his warm plate which tasted strange and again the salad on his was hard and chewy due to being on a really warm plate. Disappointing but wont stop me going again to try something else.

Gorgeous re development of a previously semi derelict old Irish cottage. Very atmospheric. Great staff nice food. If you get the front window area the views to the bay are breathtaking. Can get crowded. Suggestion for the back outside coffee plaza - wipe down the tables frequently especially first thing (bird poop) and maybe blow the leaves and debris every morning too it looks grubby.

We held our staff BBQ at Blackrock Cottage and it was absolutely unbelievable from start to finish. The venue is stunning, the atmosphere was perfect, and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. It made for genuinely the best day our team has had together. We can't recommend it highly enough -we'll definitely be back!

Quickly becoming one of my favourite restaurants in Galway. The pancakes are SO good! The toast and sausages for kids are great value and keep them very happy! Also big thank you to all the staff for being so lovely and patient with little children!! It doesn’t go unnoticed 🤗

2nd visit, first for lunch and this time for dinner. As with previous visit it was very good. Food was very good as was the service. Nice restaurant space friendly helpful staff and delicious food well priced. Will be back.

Absolute 10/10. Probably one of if not the best food ive eaten in Galway. 16oz beef mains and pork belly and oysters starters were to die for. Strongly recommend

20/05/2026: Food: Beef Stew was great. Nice chunks of tender beef, onions and carrots. Save some "sauce" for the sides, mashed, carrots, turnips and roasted potatoes. Service: Waitress had a "short and sweet attitude" no frills, yet not rude in any way. I could see this as a turn off for some but we dont mind it. Atmosphere: Small and quaint, old school. We always try to find those "hole in a wall" places off the main drag anytime we travel away from the tourist traps. Get away from the mainstream places and grab some good food from Finnegans!

Anfora Turkish Kebab House

04/06/2026: 10/10 and everything was fresh and made with care and effort. Very enjoyable lunch while waiting for car to charge.
01/06/2026: Ordered chicken shish, goujons, and a pepperoni pizza from Deliveroo and all of it was delicious! Highly recommend ordering from here.
