Blake's Bar in Galway

Had lunch there today. I haven't been for some time. Had seatrout with veg risotto which came with vegetables and potatoes. It was so good and such good value for €19.95. Was offered bread as soon as we sat down (free). Service was exemplary. Will not leave it as long again to visit.

We had a lovely evening in Blakes on 29th December. Staff were lovely and food was excellent.

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast prior to a trip. The older gentleman behind the bar was absolutely wonderful. He was engaging, funny and at times I bit humorous with stern suggestions that were spot on. The mini breakfast was still filling and the tea here was perfect. The atmosphere here was great for visitors and we felt at home in no time. Before leaving the older gentleman asked what our plans were and offered advice on which route to take on our trip to better see Ireland and what it offers. This advice did not disappoint and ended up being one of our favorite experiences on our trip.

Had a family birthday meal. Staff were friendly but pre theatre menu is only available until 7 but we weren't told. Menu is slightly limited. We brought a birthday cake and were advised they could serve it but we couldn't eat it on the premises. After some discussion they did allow us to eat the cake. Nice restaurant but some logistical issues. Food was lovely
