Popped in for beer and onion rings. Atmosphere is loud and busy. Food was okay. My perspective is that it is mostly self service. They were busy when we arrived so understood needing to step up to the bar for our drinks. But it cleared out and service was still awful. It was like none of the servers felt then need to check on customers at the tables for drinks or food orders. Had to keep going to the bar to get a food order in and a second beer.

Very authentic experience. We had a bite to eat and a few pints while listening to live music. The place is very authentic. Pub with a traditional feel.

Food was okay, chips slightly cold that came with the burgers. Seemed a little expensive for the quality. However spice bag and the Guinness stew tasted great. Service was adequate. I think they are better pubs to go for a meal in Dublin, but I can imagine it is a good spot for a drink.

We Asked the staff for a gluten free meal for one of the children as she has a big gluten issue. Upon receiving our food we double check and were told that the bread was. We all started eating only to be told after that the bread was not gluten free and now we have a very unwell child. They also brought us out one dish we hadn’t ordered and was missing a meal we ordered. Also asked for a water and was given a sprite (that we had to pay for) we cleared our bill and left only to be called by our friend saying that they just tried charging her the full bill again. It seems this place is missing a few key points to running a SAFE kitchen for all of those who have allergies and other food based problems/ issues. They have totally lost my respect and will not be returning in the future. This restaurant was the only one that we had a issue with and because it was down to a possible medical situation then we will not be returning and urge others to take this into consideration

Ambiente encantador aquí y el interior es muy interesante. Deliciosas margaritas, muy bien hechas con mimo. La comida era deliciosa y el personal era muy amable.

08/08/2025: Warm place, excellent atmosphere, good music, very pleasant and friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Simple but excellent food. Everything I tried was good, but the most remarkable thing is that even though I don't particularly like mutton in general, I loved their "traditional Irish stew"! Last but not least, the beer, including Guinness, is excellent and served very cold. Don't go too late after 8 p.m. because although it's large, it fills up quite quickly. In short, there are certainly plenty of good pubs in Dublin, but if you come across this one, don't miss it.

17/08/2025: Fantastic function room and staff! Mark and Eddy are so sound and professional! I went in a few months ago to book the function room upstairs for my party and they explained the whole process and details regarding prices, food, decorations and DJ. Everyone is very welcoming and accommodating; absolute stars. All the staff, particularly barman Ben are so helpful, calm and kind. Love the wood and design of the space, very beautiful and comfortable whether you want to sit and relax or dance the night away. The playlists they have are solid, and they have disco lights they can put on by request. Food platters are delicious, note that platter is split among several plates (handy for a big party tbh!). The upstairs space is split into two areas connected by archways, and was used for two separate parties our night which we didn't even notice honestly. I never had such a big party before and it was a massive hit! Thanks to the team at Scholars for making it a such a seamless and fun experience. Don't hesitate and book your function at Scholars ASAP. Big fan if you cant tell. I will be back for more parties🤣👏
