Bloomfield House Hotel, Lesiure Club & Spa in

This was a nice place to visit for a couple of days over the Easter break. It was excellent value; I have seen other hotels pricing at a multiple of what we paid for 2 nights b&b, with one dinner included. To summarise: Good: The kids club was a godsend, at 15 euro per child (which included a meal) for three hours of activities. It was not just a break for us, the kids really enjoyed it too. Bar food and carvery were really nice. The bar had a very good cocktail menu which I was not expecting, and the bar was well staffed at all times. Some parts of the hotel are a little dated, but they seem to be in the process of upgrading. Decor in our room was lovely, and the bar area is very nice also. Staff - every person we spoke to was pleasant and helpful. Not so good: The food in the restaurant wasn't great. The lettuce in the caesar salad came in brown clumps, seemingly chopped days earlier or out of a bag pre-chopped. The pork fillet was completely overcooked, as was the steak - ordered medium but came very very well done and then some. The heat in the bedroom was insane. The radiator pumped out heat all night long. The radiator has a radiator cover fitted with a hole in the side to access the gauge - but the hole is on the wrong side, meaning the gauge cant be accessed. We had to sleep with no blankets, window open and the fan on all night it was so hot (I suspect this is a known issue, given they supply a fan, in Ireland, in March) Overall, I would definitely recommend a stay here, especially for people with young kids. 3 stars may be a little harsh (I would give 3.5 if I could) but is based on the lack of sleep from the sauna-like room.

Fabulous hotel could not fault a thing

Simply superb venue ! Could not find a single fault .. from reception to bar to service to food..excellent... SPA treatments calm n relaxing experience..would well recommend. We stayed mid week..live music was a bonus..45 mins from Dublin easy to find. E Roche

Couldn't fault our short stay here with our 1 year old, really family friendly, the staff were incredibly patient and kind, really going above and beyond. The grounds are beautiful for a walk around and a great pool + gym too. Buffet breakfast and bar food/cocktails were great too, really recommend for any families with young kids!

Attended a wedding from England and our 3 year old boy was poorly.. receptionist went to the shop to collect some calpol for us and didn't even accept the money back for it.. special shout out to Emma, what a really selfless thing to do Thank you so much

Beautiful hotel and lovely staff, only issue was my own - that I didn't book spa treatments before I arrived.

Only visited for food. The Sunday carvery is beautiful. Lovely grounds to walk in.

Was here for a wedding and booked a king deluxe room on the 3rd floor, paid €349 for the room including breakfast. The hotel itself was fabulous but the room was disappointing. There were cracks on the ceiling above the bed and scuff marks on the walls, the heating in the room did not work, asked reception to try fix it and was told that a manager on shift would fix it, no one came and I struggled with the heating for the duration of the stay, the carpet in the room was dirty, the glasses in the room were dirty and the kettle had problems when trying to use. Went to dine in the restaurant and asked for a coke as my drink. The waitress gave me a flat drink and when I asked for my drink to be replaced i felt as if they did not believe me as the waiter said "I tasted it to be sure it was dead". I would stay here again but hopefully in a different room as paying €349 for a room that wasn't up to standards does not justify the price.

We had a suite on 2nd floor with views over the lake. There is a walk through the ground to the lake shore. Food was good, service excellent.
