We were pleased with this accessible Ring of Kerry lunch stop. I ordered the potted crab, which, had never tried and, it struck me similar to a cold crab salad but not heavy with a condiment (such as Mayo) but rather just really fresh. I loved the flavors and its accompanying tortilla crisps. My husband ordered their fried cod, and called it the “best” fish and chips he had ordered after having it in at least two restaurants in Dublin. We were placed by the window and had a lovely view of the marina.
Beautiful waterfront view. We had the potted crab appetizer, which was rather small but tasty. The fish was delicate, delicious and a generous portion. The tendergreens were fresh and flavorful, the mashed potatoes were unremarkable. We enjoyed the fried ice cream with butterscotch sauce. We also ordered the peanut butter and chocolate cookie, which is freshly baked in a cast iron. The presentation was excellent, but I wouldn't order the cookie again.
First time in ages, because the summer is on us again, that I stopped into the Boathouse on the way home.
The goat lollipops and the pulled pork starters accompanied with the gunpowder citrus gin made for a fantastic like meal in the sunshine.
Every time I stop I remind myself I should do it more often.
And the whole meal for less than €30. Where would you be going?
beautiful setting. Excellent service, fantastic value, and wonderful food.
An absolute highlight for Kenmare and the surrounding area. We've eaten here many times and have always been very satisfied. Very tidy, great team, and they have a great standard menu as well as varied daily specials. We'll definitely be back.
