Boathouse Bistro in Mullingar

Interesting menu and superb cooking combined with excellent service. Not to be missed in a wonderful location. A lot of thought & effort has gone into producing this and we would highly recommend The Boathouse Bistro….we’ll be back!

An incredible venue and restaurant. We enjoyed a fantastic day 2 of a wedding here, and I would highly recommend. The atmosphere and setting of the boathouse is perfect, and the service was impeccable!

Had an amazing time here at the weekend. The staff were very forthcoming which for me is what I look for when dining out. We had a quick drink at the bar taking in the stunning views of the bay. And then sat down for a lovely meal. I highly recommend the Chicken Milanese, I’ll be back for more! This is a must if you are staying in kenmare or doing the ring of Kerry, it won’t let you down!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at The Boathouse Restaurant in Kenmare, Co. Kerry. From the moment we arrived, everything about the experience was exceptional. The setting is simply beautiful, and the restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel instantly relaxed. The food was outstanding — beautifully presented, packed with flavour, and clearly prepared with great care and attention to detail. Every dish was delicious, and the quality really stood out. The service was equally impressive. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional, while still creating that lovely relaxed Irish hospitality that makes a meal feel special. What really makes The Boathouse stand out is the whole experience — wonderful food, a beautiful setting, excellent service and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. It’s one of those places you leave already thinking about when you can come back. A real gem in Kenmare and somewhere I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Kerry. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be returning.

I had lunch and dinner at the boathouse over the weekend and the food was exceptional as always! The bang bang broccoli is worth a roadtrip to Kenmare for and the service is incredible. The staff were happy to share recommendations, things to do in the area and ensured we were 100% satisfied throughout our visits! To top it off the views and the peaceful atmosphere were beautiful making it a very memorable experience, we are already making plans to return next summer!

The food was incredible! The halibut has to be an all-time favourite, and the Bang Bang Broccoli is the perfect starter to share. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the views are simply incredible. There really is nowhere quite like The Boathouse for fantastic food paired with such a beautiful setting. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Superb place with wonderful menu. Love the comment on gratuities. This place has thought a lot about what they are doing. The food was quality, the service professional and the setting to die for. Loved it.
