Brown Morel in Newcastle west

This place was weird. Prices were like a fancier restaurant and the room was beautiful but had some odd decor (like Christmas decor in August and dead bouquets) Service and food were more like a mid level restaurant. Our seating host didn't know anything about the menu when we asked. When we asked the waitress about menu suggestions, she immediately said the steak but with no explanation so it felt like she was just trying to get us to buy the most expensive item. She was also not very pleasant or personable. We did not feel welcome. There was also a random guy who came up to ask if we were ready to order. He was dressed in a short sleeve white button up so he looked like a patron but maybe he's the owner? We were seated close to the kitchen and got startled several times by dishes changing loudly during our dinner. Again, the food was fine but definitely not worth the €20-€30 per entree.

We had a wonderful experience! The food was delicious and the prices were fair. We loved the complimentary soup and bread, and the birthday dessert was on the house, accompanied by a lovely birthday celebration. Such a thoughtful touch that made the experience even more special! We’ll definitely be back.

Delicious, fresh food. Very attentive staff and a clean restaurant. Should advertise their restaurant on the main limerick to Killarney road as it’s well worth stopping in. We will be back

We ate here for the first time today and we were delighted with our food. Excellent quality and price. Our waitress was nice but couldn’t muster a smile, maybe she was having a bad day?? Nevertheless we’ll definitely eat here again

A surprising restaurant, on our way back from Dingle to Limerick. Well furnitured, a cozy restaurant and good service - but above all: star-like dinner! The wild boor and venison ragout was really good, just as the dessert and even unordered pre-starter with homemade sourdough bread and delicious really tasteful mushroom soup. Do not pass this one!

Lovely place to dine if you’re passing by or on holiday. Most of the food was great. They have an outside area but wouldn’t recommend to sit out if the sun is strong. The staff that served us was professional and helpful!

Had a great meal at Brown Morrel. The food was very good, and we opted for the specials, which were excellent and generously portioned. What surprised us most was how kid-friendly the pub was. Dining out with young children can sometimes be challenging, but the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, making it an enjoyable experience for the whole family. Great food, good portions, and a family-friendly environment—we'll definitely be back.

Just the complimentary itself make me wanted more, the food was delicious and the service was great.

We had scallops, chicken, duck and rack of lamb. All cooked perfectly with delicious sauces. Plenty of gluten free options. Hidden gem.
