Super cup of coffee, deliciously fresh scone and gorgeous fruitfully filled jam.
Quick service as we arrived at a quiet time.
Peace was marred by the arrival of a group of children who were very noisy and pushy

Love this place. I only seem to come when it’s super busy though so I have yet to sit inside. That’s not a flaw, it’s a sign of how popular it is. Hence the atmosphere outside on a windy misty day was mildly lower than what it is like inside. My breaded Brie salad was one of the best salads I’ve had in my life. In such a popular place, you’re bound to get a few bad reviews from people expecting more than is realistic when a restaurant is over-run. I witnessed a v annoyed father of a family sharing his displeasure in having to wait for food (not as long as my brother and I had waited for food as we had ordered much earlier than them) to the hard-working service staff who could do nothing about his imagined slight. They were so polite and accommodating, I couldn’t imagine reacting so well. Fair play to the team.

Such a cute atmosphere, the food is delicious and the staff are friendly and really good at what they do. It’s the nicest place in Spiddal to sit down for a coffee or tea, or to grab a bite to eat 👌🏻

Builin blasta is a gem on route to what one could called the gateway to Connemara, the food is great, lovely selection re retail and local goods and on a sunny day there isn’t a nicer spot.
My only qualm is the music selection, a lot of establishments put a great deal of thought into food, decor and service and then don’t think about the type of music they are choosing to play in their establishment. I could be wrong but I get the sense that Builin hasn’t given it much thought . Today I had my lunch in Builin, lovely lunch, the place was packed and the music, some kind of odd selection of fast paced thumping teenage rock, lots of drums. honestly it made me want to leave as soon as I could it was the opposite to relaxing, it just adds another layer of noise
It’s just the wrong kind of tunes for this cafe, and don’t get me wrong I love music, I’m a musician.. so please Builin, re think your playlist and I gurantee you everyone will be at lot happier, mile buiochas

Sourdough sandwich for 12e but the bread is not proper sourdough?? Tasted like Gallaghers slice pan toasted. Removed ham as I’m a veggie but still payed full price. A bit sickening with too much butter in there and it was a bit soggy from not being toasted properly. 18e for two teas and a sambo is ludicrous - if quality was up to it then no problem but I’m afraid this just was not worth raving over! Bit of a shame as it’s a nice spot and I appreciate what’s being achieved at the village overall!

Friendly staff, was busy Saturday afternoon during fair weather.
Portions are a good size, menu only available at the counter where you also order, was a bit difficult for older people to order.
The side salad to the Philo-pastry Quiche was very leafy with a nice light dressing.
