€15 for a small roast dinner - beef was chewy and mash was lumpy and €5 for a small bowl of skinny fries to go with it . €8 for a bowl of soup with one single skimpiest slice of brown bread I’ve ever seen . €2.10 for a pint of blackcurrant aswell . Wouldn’t be going back - get much better food for a lot cheaper elsewhere . Thanks for the good service however .
A pleasant bar in Roundwood, a village perched on the Eastern slopes of the Wicklow mountains. The atmosphere was much enhanced by a group of musicians playing and singing in the bar. Thank you ! A tasty soup and burger were enjoyed ! (NB. The price below did not include my drinks).
If you want to experience an authentic Ireland, where past and present blend together with charm but also a few shadows, then head to Wicklow and have lunch at this spot. A few hours will be enough. Browse through the books and enjoy the scent of burning wood. The cuisine combines nostalgic flavors with a desire to modernize, and while it deserves a 4 out of 5, the atmosphere around you provides that extra touch, making it a 5-star experience.
Went here with my son while we were away. I had a chicken burger, he had the beef burger and we both had the crumble. All of it was delicious. Even the picky teenager liked it lol

09/12/2024: Myself, my husband and daughter went out for diner went electricity was off over the weekend at the Coach House. We didn't have a booking but we got sorted straight away with a table by a very nice man with dark shirt, our order was then taken quickly by a lady with a mobility boot, fair play to this lovely lady for keep working and serving customers in a super busy night. the food was amazing. 5 stars for the hospitality and the food. We will definitely be back.
27/11/2024: We were in Ireland visiting friends for a couple of days and this pub was recommended as a good place to stay, I’d have to disagree! It was a fantastic place to stay.
From the outside it looks like any small town pub, white walls and slate roof. The moment you enter though you’re treated to a beautiful eclectic space with art in the walls and a mixture of chairs and sofas.
We had a small lunch with our friends which was delicious, I wasn’t too hungry so just had their Donegal salt and pepper squid with lemon aioli which was delicious and shared some sourdough and parsnip& feta dip/paté
After that we went to the bar and had a Guinness or two before being shown to our room.
The pub has six rooms I believe and we had number 6. The room was a surprise, it was beautiful decorated and the bed was covered in a beautiful heavy throw. I’m not sure what I expected but this room was above standard. The bathroom was also lovely, we later found the shower was one of the best we’d experienced whilst travelling.
Our evening meal and breakfast was amazing in the adjacent cafe that’s part of the pub.
