Canoe Centre in Dublin

For years, the canoe centre has been my go-to supplier for all things kayaking, providing the essential gear for both my personal adventures and for the youth organisation I work for. I've bought everything from "tip to toe," and the level of service has never wavered. ​The staff are phenomenal first dealing with Shane & Ciaran to the last couple of years with Hugh they have consistently offered knowledgeable and supportive assistance. The online shop is very user-friendly, stocking strong, quality brands that focus on depth of quality. ​A recent experience highlights their exceptional commitment: When a package went missing after posting, the team at the canoe centre put my needs foremost and promptly dispatched a second package before the original was relocated by An Post. This kind of proactive, customer-first service is why I continue to go back. ​No matter the size of the purchase, I always feel valued and acknowledged. An absolutely stellar sales and support service. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Level 2 Kayaking Course with Keith! Keith was amazing — patient, knowledgeable, and knew exactly when to push us (and when not to!). We (Carmel and Sarah) were the two oldest in the group, with one of us new to kayaking, but he made it fun, supportive, and full of laughs. The group was an added bonus — we’re now all on WhatsApp calling ourselves The Liffey Lickers! Can’t wait for our next river trip with Keith to build on everything we learned.

Have completed several courses with Keith & a river run with Keith & Frank. Absolutely fantastic experience. As a nervous paddler, they were always so calm, helpful & reassuring & always put me at ease. Have learned a lot & had good fun in the process. Highly recommend their courses.

The courses here are brilliant. Educational and very enjoyable. I would highly recommend them as they really boosted my confidence and skills. The coach, Keith, has a lovely manner that takes away any fear or apprehension. The shop itself ships out equipment fast and efficiently and advises about same over the phone without hesitation.

Hadn’t been paddling in years …. Brought my old dry suit to have the gaskets done …. Spoke with Keith and Hugh …. They followed up …., practical and extremely helpful …. Very trustworthy in what they suggested ….. would build a lot of confidence in their leadership in a cynical oul fella like me …

As a complete beginner and new to water sports, I recently completed a six-week Introduction to Kayaking course at the Canoe Centre, and it was an amazing experience. From the very start, the centre felt welcoming and safe, which helped ease any nerves I had. The instructor, Keith, was knowledgeable, patient and supportive, always explaining and demonstrating techniques clearly and encouraging everyone along the way. The course was both fun and enjoyable, with each kayaking session building on the last, covering a wide range of activities—from basic paddling techniques and boat control to safety skills and how to handle different water conditions. I especially appreciated the chance to learn alongside my peers—watching, participating and paddling with others helped me improve and made the sessions more engaging. The facilities were excellent - clean and well-equipped - which added to the positive experience. Overall, this course was a fantastic introduction to kayaking. I would highly recommend the Canoe Centre to anyone, especially beginners, looking for expert guidance, a friendly, safe place to learn and an enjoyable way to get started with water sports.
