Carey's Tavern in Athlone

Had a good night here. Great beer garden.couldn't get over the gossip of the locals there. The married woman working there having an affair with the man living up stairs. Pure trad irish haha. Loved it.

We were invited to go have a pint. The Guinness was great, the company fabulous, atmosphere perfect.

A lovely pub to visit in the heart of Athlone.

Nice little pub thats well worth visiting

Had great conversation with the publican as well as a couple of the local customers. Learned a lot about the community. We didn't have any food, but the bar service was exceptional.

Right next door to the Sheraton Hotel, this is a lovely bar that serves some of the best pints of Guinness around. The space itself is beautifully designed, warm, cosy, and the kind of place you immediately feel comfortable settling into. What really made the experience stand out was the bartender from Leixlip, absolutely hilarious and genuinely entertaining. Service like that is hard to come by and made the visit all the more memorable.
