04/09/2024: From Cork but happened to be in the area for 2 nights midweek. Booked a table here for Wednesday night based on recommendations online. Absolutely incredible meal, each course was inventive and delicious. Friendly atmosphere and huge value for money. Have often spent far more on far less quality food.
31/08/2024: I loved everything about it. The food down to the finest detail was fantastic. Couple that with Irish hospitality in a lovely dining room and you have an experience to remember.
I opted for the 5 course menu for €65 per head . Very reasonably priced.
We had the crispy hens egg and the wood pigeon for starters, followed by the lamb and brill and finally the chocolate, salted caramel tart and the rhubarb and liquorice something. Everything was delicious.
A very strong recommendation and may even convince me to move back to Ireland

12/09/2024: Unfortunately there is no pub food or other food. Otherwise it's a pub as you would imagine. Many types of beer and whiskey.
It is the oldest pub in Europe, so you should have been there.

We went for a family dinner and ordered Veg & Non-Veg food. Taste was great and customized based on our spice needs. Owner is very welcoming. Veg & Non-Veg foods prepared separately with different set of utensils (sometimes, this is a big concern for Vegetarian people).
Overall, it was a great experience.
01/09/2024: Me and family had lunch in this fabulous restaurant today. The atmosphere was so relaxing and greeted with friendly staff and given crackers with chutney dip on arrival. My wife had the samosas and I had the Afghani chicken. Our two boys had a very generous portion of chicken goujons and chips.
Our food was very well presented, full of flavour and perfect size portions.
I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough, a hidden gem in Athlone straight across the road from the University entrance.

However, the service was terrible, three people behind the bar, we ordered a coffee to go, 17 minutes of waiting, the coffee was OK, it didn't make a wow impression on us, but the price 13.50e for two small coffees.Customer service is poor. We love coffee, I will not recommend this place.

14/08/2024: Lovely pub brilliant atmosphere. We met paddy outside that saved our hungry belly’s, the pizza area was close to closing and paddy let us get our order and he went out of our way to let us order. The lads at the pizza counter were lovely and we couldn’t thank them enough.
06/08/2024: Had a few pints of guiness which were lively , staff very attentive and live music was great , definitely a recommend

27/08/2024: What a gem of a place! On the left bank of the Shannon river in Athlone, just down from Sean’s Bar in a little cluster of other establishments.
Service is outstanding – the servers work as a great team and I was checked on throughout my time with everyone that worked there. Never had to wait for anything.
Food is also remarkable. I had a dish from the specials menu: Halibut with salsa verde and a side of circular chips and a small salad. Splurged on the sticky toffee pudding. Excellent selection of non-alcoholic beverages of all sorts!
Beautiful airy restaurant with large windows looking out down the winding streets and to the Shannon River.
07/08/2024: It's not posh/ expensive place but the quality of food is so good. Definitely will be back

24/08/2024: Great breakfast spot in Athlone. Must-try the Full Irish Breakfast - hearty and delicious. Also, their Seafood Chowder is a hidden gem - creamy and flavorful. Warm atmosphere, perfect for fueling up for the day. Get there early, as it gets busy! Highly recommended.
07/08/2024: It's amazing, fresh food, really nice people and a good and fast service.
You'll find some dishes and sandwiches.
I tried the nordic club sandwich and it tasted really good.
Special thanks to the lady who thought about bringing us an expresso coffee instead of the americano one, it's real coffee !
(I'm french and generally Ireland isn't the best country for coffee, but the expresso was good).

07/09/2024: Fantastic establishment with friendly staff and fabulous food.
31/08/2024: We really liked this restaurant, the food was quite good, with a small appetizer before the main courses. But the best thing was one of the waiters, an Italian guy, who made everything very easy for us.
We will repeat when we return to Athlone and we recommend it to anyone who comes here
