The best restaurants in Athlone

06/10/2026: We can only give 5 stars! Atmosphere, service, food... absolutely nothing to complain about.

20/09/2026: Fabulous food again, great atmosphere and friendly attentive staff.

31/08/2026: A truly authentic and genuine Irish pub, the live music was great fun, lots of musicians jamming at once, it was really cool!! The waitress was the best...

29/07/2026: Best pub in Athlone! Best barkeep in Athlone!

18/04/2026: The facilities were old, but the beds were comfortable. Also, the receptionist's attitude towards other white people was noticeably different from their attitude towards Asians. It felt like the place was small and there weren't many foreigners there.

16/04/2026: We recently had our son’s Christening in the restaurant in the Sheraton and we were absolutely blown away by the amazing service from the reservation team and the restaurant staff. The reservation team Rachel and Daniel were so quick to respond in emails and had everything organised for us- nothing was an issue! They were so efficient and arranged a lovely menu for our group which was so reasonable. The food we were served was absolutely delicious, everyone was so impressed! Joe, the restaurant manager was amazing- had a designated area for our large group and the table was decorated beautifully for our celebration. Kelly and Daniel were just fabulous servers and so attentive and really lovely to all the children too. It made our day even more special to have been looked after so well by these lovely people, we are so grateful to have had such a wonderful day. We can’t thank them enough and will definitely be back and book any future parties with them.

11/09/2026: Good variety of clothes stores, coffee shops, shoe stores, sports outlets etc. Plenty of parking spaces. Love TK Maxx

09/09/2026: A lovely place to spend some time, whether you’re shopping, grabbing a coffee or simply having a wander around. Everything feels well organised and welcoming, and there’s a nice atmosphere throughout the centre. I always enjoy coming here — it’s one of those places where you can easily lose track of time. 😊

02/06/2026: Steak 🥩 it’s amazing 👍 Highly recommend this place

02/06/2026: The place is newly renovated. Looks amazing. Food was unreal, great price comparing to what you have order. Worth to pay a visit.

09/10/2026: The food was excellent, very tasty, generous portions and was delivered hot. Highly recommend❤️

03/09/2026: If you want an excellent quality/price place fir breakfast, this is the place.

04/08/2026: Friendly staff and delicious food

24/09/2026: A fairly large pub with an extensive menu. There are pool tables upstairs. Food isn't served everywhere, but you can order drinks to enjoy at the pool table. The staff gives you a very friendly welcome at the entrance and promptly shows you to a table. Everyone on the team is knowledgeable about the daily specials and can also provide information about all the other dishes on the menu. Despite the pub being relatively busy, the wait for food is quite short. All the food is fresh and homemade. Definitely recommended for a visit to Athlone.

20/09/2026: Class place with delicious food and professional staff x

05/05/2026: Another of a dying breed....a proper pub. Good staff, good pints and good atmosphere. We'd a good few on us when we arrived but once the barman realised we were ok no problem. Would've stayed longer but we were tired!

27/03/2026: Very helpful staff Great old fashioned pub

25/07/2026: Staff are great, very friendly and helpful. We were there as part of an event with a set menu and can't really say about ” regular menu" but what we had was lovely. Would happily visit again when we're in Athlone.

17/06/2026: Went there and sat down.. sign and location says food daily.. to be told they do not serve food during the week. Drove 16 kms to get here. Diaappointed.

25/09/2026: Definitely the best coffee in town

19/08/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely loved Spill The Beans! Everyone was so warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The toastie was amazing, the blueberry muffin and Nutella croissant were delicious, and the mocha latte was SO good! Everything was fresh, and the service made the whole experience even better. A spot I highly recommend!

04/09/2026: What a cracking little pub the black stuff was tasty as hell. Had a few games of pool with the locals and a bit of craic will definitely pop in again

26/07/2026: One of the best pub experiences! Warm and kind. Made us feel like part of the family.

12/09/2026: Tried their peppered steak focaccia; good taste and filling and the service was quick. Wouldn’t mind visiting again!

12/08/2026: Amazing cafe, perfect food and amazing for dogs, staff are super friendly and we love coming here!

06/09/2026: I have ordered christening theme cupcakes quite last minute. Was delighted to see availability was still there for our occasion that took place literally the same week. We got two boxes of 12 cupcakes (vanilla sponge with pink and white frosting) for a party of 15. The cakes disappeared within minutes. The sponge was so fresh. The frosting was light, creamy and not too sweet. I am happy to see the ever expanding catalogue of cakes and cupcakes designs with Quigleys. Ordering online was so easy and collection was fast and smooth. Our local Tullamore store closed a while back which we were sad to see.

18/07/2026: Great service for a birthday cake order
