27/06/2026: Comfortable clean safe definitely worth a visit

03/06/2026: The room was clean and the self-check in super easy. It’s got a private parking area and is located a short walk from the castle and river. We had a great stay here.

21/08/2026: It was excellent 10 of 10 on a scale from 1 to 10

03/08/2026: I went in and was greeted with pure happiness by the staff. The food was absolutely beautiful now. It only took about 15 minutes and it was gorgeous.

13/09/2026: We visited the River View Bistro restaurant for lunch today—a very lovely, cozy spot in Athlone. They served delicious food at very reasonable prices, and the waitstaff were polite and friendly. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful location, opposite the old castle and right next to one of the oldest pubs. We will definitely be back for dinner soon!

11/09/2026: River View Bistro is a centrally located Italian restaurant just steps from the river and the castle. The atmosphere is pleasant and conversant. The service was quick and attentive. We ordered focaccia, seafood bisque, and stew, all of which were delicious. The bread and butter was delightful. It's a shame it's not closer to home 🥲.

05/09/2026: Ordered a cookies and ice cream from the lady at the till. She then walks to go make it, picks up the cookies with her hands after just touching the money and previous customers money, to then handle the cookies without washing hands or putting on gloves. No food hygiene in this place at all.

05/09/2026: Very unsanitary. Ordered a cookies and ice cream. The woman at the till after handling money and god knows what else she proceeded to grab the cookies with her hands, no gloves and didn’t wash her hands either. So disgusting. Won’t be back.

20/08/2026: Loved this place, the food was so delicious and the portion size were exactly what we needed for sharing. Spices were so fragrant and came with a kick ordering medium to very hot. The naan and rice accompanied the meal and we left satisfied. What an amazing experience and if we are in town again, this is the place I’d wanna go

06/09/2026: Passing through atlone and tried this, was pleasantly surprised. A mix of Chinese and Thai and they done both well nice Thai mains and good quality Chinese curry sauce.

01/09/2026: The worst ramen I had. No taste, terrible brot and not fresh. Fried chicken was bland,not crispy like leftovers and I ended up getting diarrhea and shiting in my pants while shopping on homesavers. I do not recommend this place.

08/08/2026: I’ve stayed in this hotel twice this year. I cannot recommend it enough the staff are so welcoming. The rooms are very modern and clean. The breakfast is extremely tasty and a great variety. Definitely will be back soon.

08/06/2026: My 3 star rating is nothing against the hotel per se. The staff in the restaurant were excellent, menu choice and food served was of very good quality. However, there were a lot of people there and it for me it was very noisy. The ratings is from my personal preferences for quieter atmospheres. Others may not be affected by this.

15/09/2026: Very disappointing experience when it came time to pay. After we had finished our food, we were told that they do not accept cards or contactless payments and that we had to pay in cash. This was not mentioned to us before we ordered. They then instructed us to get cash from an ATM, but the ATM was out of order. Instead of offering any reasonable alternative, we were told to find another ATM and get cash. This was extremely inconvenient and not the way customers should be treated. To make matters worse, the cashier simply said, “Next time, please bring cash.” If the restaurant is cash-only, customers should be clearly informed before ordering, not after they have finished their meal. I genuinely don’t understand why this wasn’t communicated upfront. A very frustrating experience.

12/09/2026: Very good all around. Food was 10/10. Staff 10/10 Price 10/10 They dont accept card and I think that is brilliant. As I always pay with cash. More places should be like this. I would happily come here again.

13/09/2026: We booked the private room upstairs in the The Snug Bar for a hen party and it was the most perfect space for our group of 15 ladies. The staff were so welcoming and helpful and the pizzas went down a treat with the group. Highly recommend this space for a private area to have some hen games. It doesn't have a TV screen but has a surround sound bluetooth speaker.

26/08/2026: Lovely pub with a warm relaxed atmosphere. NOTE: They do not do food but you can order a pizza from Pavarotti's next door.

17/09/2026: We ordered an delivery this evening 17th September 26. Everything was dried up. Spring rolls were hard as if recooked. Also spice bag was terrible. For a spice bag and spring rolls was 28,euro.

15/09/2026: Love the food and the service. Reasonably priced.
