31/12/2024: A few minutes drive outside the town ,but also on the A2,A3 bus route 10 mins journey ,had a wonderful and relaxing weekend away ,great value and very clean and spacious rooms .with a very modern bathroom.
22/12/2024: I had a great stay at this hotel a while back where I was well and truly looked after by a staff member named Fiona Brennan whom I'm not sure works in the springs anymore but regardless Fiona made the experience so much more enjoyable and welcoming .

22/12/2024: It's one of my favorite pubs in Athlone. I love an interior here and how the stuff are friendly. Also, it's a comfortable and good place to spend some evening winter weekend with a fireplace.

09/07/2025: I drove to Athlone from Co Cork for the night for work, workshop the next day. I Spent an hour online looking for something to eat. Couldn’t make my mind up, so my husband suggested Chinese. So glad I came to this place. The won ton noddle soup and sweet and sour pork with rice was excellent, fresh and full of flavour the best I’ve had since I left New Zealand 2 years ago. Service was on point and welcoming. Good vibes all around. Kia Ora!

02/03/2025: I’ve been going to Il Basilico for years - it is by far the best pizza in Ireland! The ingredients are so fresh and the pizza is always 10/10. Also the chips are proper chips, not frozen ones like most of the other pizza places! The staff are always lovely too and the service is so fast! I will continue to travel here as it really is such an amazing pizza!! Highly recommend!

19/06/2025: Popped in recently and had such a great experience I felt I should leave a review. The food and atmosphere were lovely, but what really stood out was the staff. You can tell they actually care about what they’re doing—friendly, attentive without being over the top, and just genuinely helpful. It made the whole visit feel really relaxed and welcoming. They clearly work well as a team and are a real credit to the place. It’s the kind of service that makes you want to come back.

Place smelled like dirty feet as soon as we walked in.
The music was beyond horrendous, mid 2010s music selection.
would not reccomend to my least favorite person.

08/06/2025: Very grim nightclub. You’d wanna be locked going in there. Depending on the barman sometimes your spirits were watered down. A gin with soda water was 10.20 and 7.00 for a shot. I didn’t realise it was Stockholm prices in Athlone town centre. 2 stars because the music was good

Not so with Silver Oak - the quality and quantity of their food is fantastic, with the Tandoori Chicken and Saag Peneer being my favorites. Best Indian in Athlone, highly recommended A+++
