10/01/2025: Ordered a kebab meal, meat was cold, chips were cold, curry dip was cold. Would never consume again.

10/01/2025: The business was closed for three days last month. Weak pest control, open pipes and rat droppings led to a Westmeath take away being served a closure order last month. Take Away Express on Northgate Street in Athlone was issued the order on December 13th under the FSAI Act 1998, which was lifted three days later on the 16th. It was one of six food businesses across the country that was served a closure order by The Food Safety Authority of Ireland last month. The FSAI served 133 enforcement orders on food businesses in 2024, an increase of 45% from the 92 orders issued in 2023.

15/03/2025: Well I’m sorry I didn’t check the reviews before I innocently came off the motorway to get a drive thru. McDonald’s are normally consistent to be fair. This one has lowered the bar so low it’s found there’s a basement and is digging. Got to the food window where I was given ice cream I didn’t order. Then it was a guess who for what I did order as the server held up random things and I had to guess a. What it was and b. Was it my order. He asked me to move up and wait which I did. 10 minutes later, got the order, with cheese which I specifically asked be left out, enough mayo to drown a small child, chips without salt (no sachets or sauces or napkins to quell the tsunami of mayo) and missing a drink. So it summary if you like flushing your money down the toilet, this is the place for you. The drink with my meal, a Fanta, was flat. Feel slightly nauseous seeing the hygiene reviews and now grateful the meal was inedible, drink undrinkable. This is 100% a management issue, it’s echoed in the untrained panicked staff. Confident trained staff don’t provide this bad a service. McDonald’s, this place is taking your standards to the sewer.

09/03/2025: An employee was wiping tables, putting rubbish in bins in restaurant, he was blowing his nose on his hands & wiping it on the cloth he was wiping the tables with. Absolutely disgusting, I was glad I was only having a coffee. Disgusting hygiene.

15/03/2025: We popped in for a bit of lunch, during a rainy day visit to Clifden. The bakery was warm and welcoming , with a huge array of sweet and savoury treats to choose from. We enjoyed a tasty steak and kidney pie. Definitely recommend.

20/01/2025: I popped in here for breakfast & ordered a full Irish. It is very difficult to do a fry up badly but somehow this place managed it. It did not appear to be cooked fresh, especially the rashers which had a strange taste off them. Would not eat here again.

27/01/2025: Golly gosh I just adore this little place! Staff is always extremely polite and the drinks are just top notch. I come her maybe once a week and i never get bored of it. I strongly recommend the cookies and cream!

03/03/2025: We had ordered a large pizza, but it was extremely disappointing. The pizza was tasteless, and despite mentioning our preference for sauces, none were added. Yet, we were charged the full amount. When we ordered again, the pizza was overly spicy—seemingly done on purpose just because we had requested some spice. It was so spicy that we couldn’t even eat it. Additionally, the delivery person claimed we had provided the wrong address, even though we gave the correct one over the phone, and we are regular customers. We had to wait almost 45 minutes for both orders while being extremely hungry.

24/01/2025: I came with my family to eat pizza. We went to APACHE PIZZA Athlone. . We were very satisfied with the quality and freshness. Pizzas are baked here and now. Not to mention how wonderful, helpful people are working there. Good luck to you all. My family and I will come back again and again.

01/03/2025: Large play areas. Dining area, coffee shop. Wasn't impressed with the staff. The owner/ manager shouted at us on the way in, asking if we were at a party or here alone. Obviously, we were at a child's party!!! We were hardly coming to use the playground as we are in our 50s. Few other people we spoke to were not impressed with his manner either. Will not be returning.
