06/08/2026: Service was absolutely undeniably the best Ive seen in a long time our server was well able to crack a laugh out of us 2 or 3 times throughout the dinner really welcoming and just made us feel at home brilliant to see. The food was 10/10 i had their BBQ ribs and they were the best rack of ribs ive had in a few years my brother had their beef burger and had nothing but praise for it. Drinks were nice and cool not too cold and not too warm just right and the atmosphere was impeccable really suited the name of the place

01/06/2026: Whatever you do don’t go, awful costumer service over charged me. I ordered a can of Coke and they made sure I paid but they never gave me the can. The pizzas dough was literally raw falling apart. Don’t go

24/05/2026: Was recommended to come here as I like a lot of cuisines that they stock original food for. Got beef and chicken sausages and burgers made in house, very tasty. Owner and staff were genuine, chatty and helpful. Will be going back for more food treasures

02/07/2026: all ways good . only time you will maybe have problems is at closing time . still good but you can taste the difference overly salty. but cant blame them as it was 10 min before closing + there was a group of kids giving them problems they had been there over an hour .shouting blocking the exit door trying to get under the staff skin . props to the staff for putting up with all that and still making food for the late comers

25/02/2026: A pathetic attempt at a Spice Bag. There's zero veg, there's no chili flakes, most of the chips have no seasoning, and there's very little chicken. The chicken is a mixture of chicken balls and shredded chicken. It was very difficult to distinguish between the chips and the shredded chicken.

02/08/2026: Was craving a frozen yogurt and Jump was my option. I asked for strawberry and granola toppings and I got a whole cup of frozen yogurt with ONE small strawberry cut in 6 pieces and half a spoon of granola… Usually a frozen yogurt is full of toppings, that’s the whole point… but oh well.

09/08/2026: NOT ITALIAN AT ALL!! This place is the best example of fake Italian food. The pizzas are nothing like authentic Italian pizza — not Neapolitan, not Roman, not anything remotely close. They charge €13 for a pizza that is stretched using a machine, which, as an Italian, I found extremely disappointing and disrespectful to the tradition. For my first course, I ordered the Polpette alla Pavarotti. The waitress wrote it down as “meatballs”, which is completely wrong because it is not the same dish at all and the recipe is entirely different. The preparation, ingredients, and even the concept do not match what is commonly understood as meatballs. When another member of staff brought the dish, he also referred to it as “meatballs,” which only reinforced how disconnected they are from the actual Italian name and traditional preparation. The sauce was watery and heavily seasoned with spices that tasted much more like Middle Eastern or Indian cuisine than Italian food. In fact, almost every dish we tried had flavors that reminded us more of Indian food than Italian cuisine. We obviously decided not to order dessert, as we didn't want to risk it again. The total bill for four people was around €100, which made the experience even more disappointing. In the end, it felt like a complete waste of both time and money. 28/07/2026: Nice coffee shop atmosphere, I had a latte and it was not good. I only drank a quarter of it and could take no more. Not recommended!

03/08/2026: On a wet Monday in Athlone there is no better place to be than Ken’s Oriental Restaurant. While the atmosphere skews towards quiet — we were the only diners eating in for a good portion of our two hours — the buzz of the takeaway collectors provided enough excitement to keep us entertained. The menu boasts classic Irish-Chinese takeaway dishes alongside several Ken Specials including Ma Po Tofu, which was flavourful and spicy. However, the second page of the menu is what really stood out: you can select literally any meat/veg/tofu from a lettered list and any sauce from a numbered one and get that on a plate with rice. K5 please! We opted for the chop suey mixed vegetables, which could’ve been improved with a better variety, but the few rogue peas brightened it up. A jug of Mi Wadi was ordered for the fun of it, and what fun we had. We still weren’t content on the liquids front, though, so ordered some steaming green tea which came with tiny cups and complimentary fortune cookies. While the cookies predicted lucky daisies and meet cutes, they didn’t tell us how fortunate we were to have graced Ken’s doorstep. They also let us charge a phone ❤️

02/06/2026: Went in tonight to pick pick up friends because I wouldn't eat there if it was free. Disgusting food. But because I wasn't eating there and both friends were I was asked to leave . All 3 of us left then happily. Discusting place with obnoxious staff . Match made in heaven .
