24/06/2024: You know those days when you really fancy some fish and chips? I had to scratch that itch and I really wanted to treat myself. Without naming names I went to a couple of takeaways beforehand and they didn't have fish on the menu, but Mister Pizza saved the day. I thought that their fish and chips was good value at €10 as you get two whole fillets of fish plus a generous portion of thick cut chips. The fish batter was nice and crunchy and the chips were perfectly cooked. I only had to wait about 10 minutes and everything was cooked fresh. I even shared a small bit of the fish with my dog when I got home and he appreciated it!

27/11/2024: I stayed at the Radisson Blu for 11 nights for work and so visited the Restaurant every morning for breakfast. The ladies running the bistro did everything they could day in and day out to make sure it was always the best experience. The food is great and most importantly the staff really gave us the best start to the day! Definitely pay them a visit! :)

01/11/2025: We had such a great experience at The Fiddlers. Kathryn, the bartender was extremely nice, conversed with the four of us in our group the entire time we were there. She had suggestions for the best sights in Ireland, and when I mentioned I had been a bartender she showed my group exactly how to pour a Guinness. A treasure trove of knowledge! We enjoyed conversation with Larry, another customer at The Fiddlers. Great atmosphere and, of course, the Guinness was really good.

10/01/2025: The business was closed for three days last month. Weak pest control, open pipes and rat droppings led to a Westmeath take away being served a closure order last month. Take Away Express on Northgate Street in Athlone was issued the order on December 13th under the FSAI Act 1998, which was lifted three days later on the 16th. It was one of six food businesses across the country that was served a closure order by The Food Safety Authority of Ireland last month. The FSAI served 133 enforcement orders on food businesses in 2024, an increase of 45% from the 92 orders issued in 2023.

17/06/2025: Hi there I have seen your question regarding The Venue and I just wanted to say that I have attended the concert of "The year that grunge broke " previously at the Venue in Athlone town . I attended the concert with friends on the night and the concert lasted two hours.

13/12/2025: When visiting Athlone Shopping Centre, we always stop by Jump Juice, especially the Mango Magic - it’s delicious every time. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making it a pleasure to visit. Highly recommended !
