Rustic roots restaurant in Athlone

Delicious food..homemade burgers and chicken...ribs are excellent too.. Brilliant theme..loved it.

Quirky little restaurant, excellent service, great menu, massive portions!

We had a great time here on my brother's birthday recently. Tasty food, lovely atmosphere, we absolutely loved dining here!

Rustic Roots location is ideal, a walking distance from the Radisson Blu Hotel and the Athlone Town Bridge. I enjoyed the salmon with shrimp and a Guinness. Afterwards, I walked around the area to take photos of the sunset. Vhuntermassage LLC

A typical Irish restaurant! We had a very good meal. The stew is served in a bread bowl, and the rosemary-lemon water comes in a 1-liter carafe (€2.50). Excellent! The service is friendly and attentive.

Mum & I stopped here for lunch. We both had the ciabatta - they were outstanding! Some of the best we’ve had. Bread is made fresh daily too. Staff were friendly too. Highly recommend this spot.

We enjoyed our fish chowder, baked fish and mushroom sides and the lovely service on our stop along the way to Galway from Dublin. Athlone is a wonderful place to visit and the cuisine at this restaurant didn't disappoint. I noticed that the menu changes quite a bit from the pictures and they didn't have Guinness stew or Atlantic Fish Pie on the menu - hope we come round again at some point to try it. We had no room in our stomaches for Chocolate Guinness Pie but the person enjoying it next to us gave it a 10/10.

Lovely food, dessert was especially nice; reasonable price for city centre and well decorated. Service was hit or miss, we personally found one of the staff to come across as unnecessarily sarcastic - requested ketchup and received a joking response of "no", then never brought it. We asked another member of staff who sorted us out quickly and was very pleasant. Overall, well sourced and varied ingredients but would not be in a rush back.

We were amazed at the standard of food we received,it was one of the best meals I've ever had,top quality standard, lovely local girl this evening serving us,will return when passing through Athlone again
