Rustic roots restaurant in Athlone

I ordered the Irish Beef & Guinness Stew, flavorful and delicious. Served in a bread bowl.

Lovely food, dessert was especially nice; reasonable price for city centre and well decorated. Service was hit or miss, we personally found one of the staff to come across as unnecessarily sarcastic - requested ketchup and received a joking response of "no", then never brought it. We asked another member of staff who sorted us out quickly and was very pleasant. Overall, well sourced and varied ingredients but would not be in a rush back.

Small but cozy restaurant in Athlone. Quite good food and very polite staff. Very local atmosphere.

The restaurant is typically Irish and plays good music. The stew was very good, but the steak was unfortunately well-done and not medium as ordered. The staff unfortunately has little time for the guests, seems somewhat disoriented, and chats away in the back room.

Incredible Sunday lunch. Braised short rib with mash was insane. The pan just was liquid gold. Great service as well!

Stopped on our way to Dublin. Had sandwiches, Hamwich Hero & Cajun Flamewich both exceeded expectations!

A small restaurant in the city center, the decor is cute and the service impeccable. The woman who served us was lovely: we wanted fish and chips, but unfortunately, we hadn't realized they only served it at lunchtime. She served us fish and chips anyway since there were only two of us. A small gesture that made us happy. The dish was generous, the fish large and boneless, and the fries were good. Although expensive—inflation has unfortunately taken its toll, as everywhere else—the quality was there. In that sense, it was a very good experience and we recommend it. P.S.: Thanks again to the waitress for quickly noticing that we had left our phone behind when we left!

The bread was very thick and had lots of flavours
