Poppy Fields Cafe in Athlone

Lovely place for a bite to eat, great menu and great staff!

Amazing cafe, perfect food and amazing for dogs, staff are super friendly and we love coming here!

Easily the best breakfast I’ve had during my trip to Ireland! The sausage roll and fruit and granola bowl was delicious. Highly recommend :)

We enjoyed a lovely lunch here. The food was delicious and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. They even brought water and treats for our dog!

Delicious options, had a bagel and a full Irish, hot chocolate was super nice as well.

Got the Irish breakfast, ciabatta breakfast sandwich, and latte with oat milk. Filling and good. They have fresh orange juice which tasted very yummy! Warm and homey atmosphere. Fast service.

I had lunch with a friend today at Poppy Field and it was lovely! We sat in the patio while the rain was pounding outside. I had a seafood chowder as I needed something warm and it was so tasty. It had a good amount of fish, perfect seasoning and plenty of vegetables, with the right consistency. The soup came with a serving of garlic bread but if you prefer you can order their brown bread instead. Service was friendly and attentive, and the menu has a great selection from breakfasts to wraps and salads. I am looking forward to eating here again soon.

Very busy little cafe. Service was quick. Food was lovely at an affordable price. A good range of selection for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. No rushing you out of your seats. My friend and I stayed for 4hrs catching up. I had the egg benedict - the poached eggs were perfect and the bacon was divine. My friend had the egg royale..devoured it. Cappuccino was so tasty I had to order another. Came in a large mug/cup. Both of us were surprised and I was delighted. The photo doesn't do it justice.
