Sheraton Athlone Hotel in Athlone

The facilities were old, but the beds were comfortable. Also, the receptionist's attitude towards other white people was noticeably different from their attitude towards Asians. It felt like the place was small and there weren't many foreigners there.

We recently had our son’s Christening in the restaurant in the Sheraton and we were absolutely blown away by the amazing service from the reservation team and the restaurant staff. The reservation team Rachel and Daniel were so quick to respond in emails and had everything organised for us- nothing was an issue! They were so efficient and arranged a lovely menu for our group which was so reasonable. The food we were served was absolutely delicious, everyone was so impressed! Joe, the restaurant manager was amazing- had a designated area for our large group and the table was decorated beautifully for our celebration. Kelly and Daniel were just fabulous servers and so attentive and really lovely to all the children too. It made our day even more special to have been looked after so well by these lovely people, we are so grateful to have had such a wonderful day. We can’t thank them enough and will definitely be back and book any future parties with them.

Just back from a lovely stay in Sheraton Athlone Hotel ,have to say the staff were fantastic so friendly and professional esp Sinead in the bar and all the staff in the restaurant . Food fantastic esp restaurant menu . Hotel right in the centre of town so plenty of opportunities to do some shopping ,plenty of nice restaurants and bars in close proximity. Just one little comment just so some improvements could be made in respect to the rooms, I had booked a room for myself and my two sisters so we got a room with a large king size bed but instead of a proper single bed for the third adult the bed was like a small bed on wheels no headboard just a wooden plinth which was very uncomfortable and the pillows were dreadful .The rest of the accommodation was excellent lovely bathroom fully equipped, nice tea and coffee facilities and nice and spacious .

We stayed in a deluxe room, full wall of windows, view was brilliant. Had breakfast 2 mornings, food and service were brilliant. Had dinner in the restaurant and everything was perfect. Had cocktails in the bar and they were yum. Service everywhere was excellent, including reception, who were very helpful. Great location as right in the centre and attached to the shopping centre.

Loved everything about it! Quality from top to bottom. Got the steak sandwich and cheesecake, they were next level!

A Four-Star Hotel That Truly Feels Like Five Stars My stay at the Sheraton Athlone exceeded expectations. Although it's rated four stars, it absolutely measures up to five-star standards in the context of Irish hotels. The room was very spacious and comfortable, and there were plenty of communal seating areas on the floors – a thoughtful touch. The pool's hydro massage system is the most comprehensive I've seen among free hotel facilities, and the water temperature was pleasantly high. However, the shower temperature was unstable, and the changing room was a bit too cold – improving these two points would make it perfect. Breakfast was excellent in both variety and quality. The only minor drawback is that more coffee machines would be helpful during peak hours. The location is superb – just a five-minute walk from the train station, yet very quiet. There's a shopping mall and supermarket right next door, which is incredibly convenient. In summary: If you're looking for a comfortable, well-equipped, and conveniently located hotel in Athlone, this one is highly recommended. Despite a few areas for improvement, the overall experience far exceeds the usual four-star standard.

Beautiful scene from bed room , Which enjoyed 3 evenings, location just close by train / bus stations, Breakfast beautifully spreads, many many varieties, Breakfast timing staffs were very attentive, and welcoming, I can give 5 star or more stars service and cleanliness, Club service excellent. Stayed there on the 30th of March during the midterm, great price, location and a great base for further travels around the midlands

Nice well maintained hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Free beer tasting Tuesday was a nice touch and well done. Adam who did our beer tasting, was excellent and really knows his beers. We highly recommend.
