Wonderful location with plenty of outdoor seating along the river. Two levels of dining available. We got there at 5:30 with no reservations and were lucky to get an inside table with a view of the water. It was lovely! Had great service and delicious food. Started with the soup of the day, leek and potato or turnip soup, it was thicker than we expected, but the flavor was divine - and quite addicting. For dinner, we shared the seafood platter. It had 2 filets of salmon, and 2 filets of bream, 6 prawns, shrimp, mussels, clams, and calamari. They served it with 2 sauces, tarter and chimichurri. These accented the food wonderfully. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Solid food on our drive from Dublin to Galway. Weird menu but well executed food. You will have to prompt the family serving when you're ready to order or need more drinks and again to pay, but food came fairly quickly. We dined at lunch overlooking the river.

Had a meal here last night and it was spectacular! The views of the river are great no matter where you sit, a lovely atmosphere for a meal. We had Turkish Sucek to start with which was very tasty, highly recommend. Our mains, beef moussaka & vegetarian penne were both absolutely gorgeous. For dessert we had Turkish Baklava for the first time and it was so so so good, I could have eaten another portion it was so nice. Lovely place with some really outstanding dishes. It's also great value as well. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Athlone, thanks Bacchus!
