Terrific Flavours, Generous Portions and Excellent Value This was my second visit to Bacchus and once again it was excellent. There’s a wonderful Turkish/Greek influence to the menu, with terrific flavours, very generous portions and genuinely great value. I started with the meze platter for one, which was exceptionally generous and could easily have been shared. For mains we had the Anatolian braised beef and the special of the day, kadaif-encrusted monkfish. The flavours in the braised beef were unreal — rich, beautifully seasoned and probably the highlight of the meal. The monkfish was equally impressive and something a little different. We finished with baklava for dessert. Generosity seems to be a theme here — not only with the food portions, but even the glasses of red wine, which are noticeably larger than the usual standard glass. Service was excellent throughout: friendly, attentive and relaxed. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the food and service are the real standouts. On my first visit I had the beef moussaka, which was also delicious, so the consistency across two visits has been impressive. Excellent food, excellent service and terrific value. I’ll definitely return.

I ordered the spaghetti with seafood and it was really good. I would order it again.

Great food, especially seafood Tissot, musaka, fettuccini Bacchus...

7 of use ate here, all enjoyed our meals (2 from the kids menu). Good portion sizes. Cheese cake was disappointing, seemed to lack taste. I gave it an overall 4 stars because I thought it was over priced.

Friendly staff serve a great range of beers and other drinks in a light, open area near the Shannon. The menu is basic and not too extensive, but the food is tasty. A pleasant venue for a sunny afternoon.

Excellent food! Great service and they are knowledgeable about their dishes. Beautiful setting on the river.

Would give it six stars if I could. Great attentive caring service. Wonderful flavors new to my pallet. A great location with lovely views. Georgianna made the night that much better
