Bacchus Restaurant in Athlone

Solid food on our drive from Dublin to Galway. Weird menu but well executed food. You will have to prompt the family serving when you're ready to order or need more drinks and again to pay, but food came fairly quickly. We dined at lunch overlooking the river.

Had a meal here last night and it was spectacular! The views of the river are great no matter where you sit, a lovely atmosphere for a meal. We had Turkish Sucek to start with which was very tasty, highly recommend. Our mains, beef moussaka & vegetarian penne were both absolutely gorgeous. For dessert we had Turkish Baklava for the first time and it was so so so good, I could have eaten another portion it was so nice. Lovely place with some really outstanding dishes. It's also great value as well. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Athlone, thanks Bacchus!

Was pretty quiet but was in good company. Ordered the sea bream, absolutely delicious.

The food was amazing so delicious and Fresh 🤗, the staff are polite and friendly , the owner suggests a delicious dessert in the end , and it was spectacular (Baklawa)🤗🔥

I don’t know Athlone very well. Took a chance here the menu looked nice and varied. Not disappointed 😋 Mesa starter. T-bone streak, braised beef. Everything was very tasty. The portions are very generous, arrive hungry. Service was excellent too 😊

Food here was amazing, portion size excellent, perfectly timed service and all in a great environment with super helpful staff.

Verry god service, Frank was a plecure to meet. he had a lot of good values and good ethusiasm. an all time favoritt, will definetley come back

Everything was delicious & staff were excellent, and the air con was powerful on a very hot day. However, the steak was a little bit overdone and they had no cocktails despite them being advertised on the wall. Otherwise top marks!
