Gertie Brownes Bar & Bistro is a three minute walk from Radisson Blu Hotel. I entered the bar in the evening to listen to live music while I drank a Guinness. A pleasant woman sang very well as she played her guitar. Vhuntermassage LLC

The atmosphere at this pub was immaculate. We stopped in for some Bangers and Mash and ended up having some beers and watching the World Cup Semi-Final. The service was very good with the waitresses checking in multiple times throughout the meal and beers. Highly recommend to anyone stopping over in Athlone or staying longer.

We stopped in for a late lunch upon arriving into town. Location is great, staff were really attentive. Being that it was the middle of the say, it was not busy, but there was plenty to look at throughout the bar. Food was yummy, and they had daily specials available as well. Would like to see what its like on a busy night, with more people about. Highly recommend

Very friendly! :) we had a three yearold with us and they had two high chairs. It was our very first food stop on our Ireland trip. We felt welcomed.

Savoury Fare

22/07/2026: This place is perfect for breakfast or lunch. The food is fantastic. I asked for a delicious BLT and it came with salad and crisp also asked for dasher (panini with turkey bacon cranberry mayo and Brie cheese) and was amazing taste. And finally the carrot cake one of the best dessert in all town. The prices and the service was great. I also Highly recommend this place to crab a coffee with a good dessert.
