Catalyst Coffee - Beach in Bray

Great vibe and super cosy. The coffee was delicious but I was a little disappointed they don't offer cooked food options.

Love the vibe and concept of this cafe. Prime location and so much seating too. Also happy they have vegan options. However, they run out of food so often by mid-morning on the weekends. It's always busy so they could be making a lot more money if they produced enough food for the crowd. The service is very slow at busy times too. They also only have two small toastie machines so you're often waiting quite a while for the toastie. The price for the toasties is ridiculous but the breakfast burrito (when it's not sold out) is better value. Also, not sure why they never ask if people are having their coffee in the cafe or for takeaway.. they seem to always serve drinks in takeaway cups by default unless you specify. Seems like a waste of money for them and not sustainable. The staff are generally friendly enough but seem more interested in talking to each other than serving customers or clearing tables.

Love this place! It’s always clean and cozy, with great coffee and food. The staff are genuinely friendly, and that beach view never gets old.

Nice tea and hot coffee. The vibe was great and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend after walking along the sea front.

The restrooms are average. Their ordering process is a little different than what you might experience in your country. You order at the register (like Starbucks) but don't know when your order will arrive, which is very confusing. The waiting area (from my perspective) is congested precisely for this reason. You have a long wait if you're in a hurry, about 10 minutes. The staff, although friendly, don't explain anything; they just charge you.

Changing review from 3 back to 5 stars again. Delighted to see Catalyst back in their larger premises again. Popped down yesterday as we'd run out of coffee beans and Catalyst was the latest place open in Bray. Was assisted by a lovely gentleman who brought me through their different roasts, and offered me a taste of the bean/roast that I'd chosen to ensure that it was what I expected. That's a lovely touch and generates so much goodwill with a potential/new/irregular customer. I'll definitely be back, and if the coffee lives up to my expectation, may switch from my regular roaster. Original 5*: Had brunch here and was pleasantly surprised how tasty everything was. Not the cheapest, but very well presented. We had a vegan in our group and she could choose everything on the menu. Highly recommend

Love the açai here, wish the service was a bit quicker.
