The steak was an absolute winner grilled to medium rare perfection. Their irresistibly mouth-watering food is bursting with flavour, melts in one's mouth. A labor of love that's worth every calorie. A gastronomical experience like no other.

Honestly a very nice surprise both in terms of services and taste offerings and presentations. We enjoyed a cocktail then the tasting menu which came with 3 small canapes, then two mains and a dessert. The whole thing was excellent. An excellent moment that we will repeat.

This review is for a visit on 5/2/24 Quite possibly the best restaurant I’ve been to in the world, so far. From the moment I walked in the staff made me feel like a friend being welcomed into a home. It’s a very intimate setting with few tables, I was always well attended and checked up on. The food was out of this world amazing. The borscht in a ball was unique and a great starter. I still fondly think about the pate and apple gel dish, just amazing, complex, and beautiful to look at. Lobster tail, might be the best I’ve had. The one thing was the salt on the pork was a bit much for me and I felt terrible sending it back but they fixed it without fuss, and sent out an under salted one for me, it was great and the mushroom morels adoring it, to die for. I don’t drink but they sent out a commentary non-alcoholic wine which I very much enjoyed. Thanks for making me feel so special! My first two star Michelin experience, well worth it, and sets the standard for any fine dining experience I have from here on out.

Chapter One is fabulous. One quickly realizes how it merited two stars from Michelin. From reception, to cocktails, thru dinner, everything was impeccable, including the service. Delicious foie gras creations, great lobster dish, and fabulous pigeon. By all means, you must finish with their famous Irish Coffee, prepared tableside. Awesome! This was right up there in our loosely formulated “Top Ten” Dinners ever, in the company of Auberge d’Ill, The Inn At Little Washington, Les Crayeres, etc. Some fine company. Nuf Ced! Highly recommend!

This is our second time dining here (first time was pre-Covid). Excellent experience. The staff was great— very professional but friendly. We felt that they genuinely cared about our experience. Beautiful ambiance. Great drinks and food. The dishes were inventive but also very approachable. And the courses were layers like chapters in a story. The dessert—a 3 strawberry preparation—was amazing but we were too full to finish it (maybe we’ll ask to start with dessert first next time). Great showcase of Irish food culture. It was a wonderful way to end our Dublin journey.

La Caverna

06/01/2025: We are here during our stay in Dublin and the food was wonderful. I don't think we had a reservation so sat upstairs and not in the better celler area.

John Kavanagh The Gravediggers

03/02/2025: Best Guinness we have tasted Very small old pub with lots of character and very busy
02/02/2025: Had a pint of Guinness and a seafood chowder at three places yesterday. Denvir's in Downpatrick, Fitzpatrick’s just outside Carlingford and the Gravediggers. Kavanagh's was the best for both. The Guinness is absolutely one of the best in Ireland and the seafood chowder is amazing. Service was efficient and friendly, Ann was wonderful. Totally recommend anyone contemplating a visit to do it. Highly recommended!
