Lovely atmosphere and amazing service but unfortunately the taste did not impress. Even though plates looked well the food did not blend well. Had a nice negroni and the Guinness bread was unique.

staff were unbelievably lovely and made us feel very comfortable, food was divine - delicious little works of art! definitely did not go hungry but also didn't feel disgustingly full after. such a great combination of flavours all around and from the chef's table the kitchen staff actually looked like they were having a nice time which is a good sign for a restaurant.
We visited Chapter One with high expectations and were unfortunately massively disappointed. For a bill of €800 for two people (including wine pairings for €130 per person), the service was far from what one would expect in the 2-star category.
The criticisms in detail:
• Wine pairing: The pours were simply inadequate. The glasses were sometimes practically empty, which is unacceptable at a price of €130 per person for the wine pairings. Technically, the wines were well-chosen (especially the pairing with dessert), but the pricing seemed greedy and inhospitable.
• Creativity & Menu Development: There was a lack of culinary inspiration. Caviar was used in almost every course – a clumsy attempt to justify the high menu price with expensive ingredients instead of shining through creative depth.
• Product Quality: The wild strawberries in the dessert were an absolute no-go; they were not visually perfect. In a restaurant of this caliber, no product should leave the pass showing any blemishes or that isn't perfectly ripe.
Conclusion:
A beautiful restaurant, very friendly service, technically very good, but lacking soul and generosity. In direct comparison to the D'Olier Street Restaurant, where we experienced a better menu and significantly more balanced wine pairings, Chapter One falls short across the board. We won't be returning and cannot recommend it at this price.

We decided last minute to visit Ireland. Therefore, we missed the booking windows. As luck would have it, we were able to secure the Chefs Table on the day of. So don’t be discouraged if you don’t have a reservation. Check reservations in the morning or take a chance and walk in early or at the end of the night. Overall, as expected an excellent meal and even better staff! The cocktails are a must, best I’ve had during my trip. We had a great time. I would highly recommend.

We celebrated my birthday there (which they forgot about although we let them know in advance). Great food, service and presentation but we were missing the wow factor for this level of restaurant.

Here twice. Once for pre theatre menu, and other time, a la carte. One of my favourite restaurants. Treat yourself and your family, expensive but worth every cent.

Enjoyed a four course meal with work colleagues and a valued customer. The service was superb and the food was 5 star. Maybe a bit more bread on the table for those with a larger appetite would have been appreciated 😁. Comes highly recommended.
