Overall, my stay was comfortable, but there are a few areas that need improvement.
Room Concerns: I stayed in room 129, which had an odd shape, possibly due to its location at the corner. Unfortunately, the view from the window overlooked a garbage dump, which was far from pleasant. Rooms with such drawbacks should either come with a discount or a clear warning at the time of booking or check-in. It was disappointing and surprising to discover this only after entering the room.
Breakfast Options: The breakfast spread was limited in terms of hot options. Simple additions like freshly made omelettes or other hot items would greatly enhance the experience.
Service at the Counter: The staff at the front desk seemed unfamiliar with the process of booking Big Bus tours. This led to mistakes and significant delays, which was frustrating.

We were on the third floor of a section of the hotel with no elevators, but they helped us carry our bags to our room.

The hotel is very well located, the rooms are cozy, clean, comfortable. What I had the worst was going up in the elevator, you have to be inserting your card to go up, if you don't have it at hand, or it has been blocked, you can't go up, but removing this the rest was great. Friendly treatment by all employees. Special mention to Mustafa at reception, his colleagues were equally nice, but I didn't remember their names. At the restaurant Juan el canario, super friendly and patient with the group of 13 women who went. With the Valencian one, I didn't stick with the name, and there was another girl who spoke Spanish, all super nice.
Also right next door there is a pub where we ate two days, all the dishes were super delicious, and in front of the hotel there is a supermarket, in case you are hungry...
The truth is, a hotel to repeat when we return to Dublin.

We had a two night mid week break at the Clayton Charlemont. We stayed in the James Bond suite (room 007). Had a fabulous time. The room had everything we required and the beds were so comfortable. But what really made our stay was the welcoming staff. In particular I would like to thank Carmel who made sure we had a lovely breakfast and nothing was too much trouble. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. You won't be disappointed. đ

Unfortunately, I can't quite agree with the previous reviews;
The location is okay, but central is different in my opinion. It takes about 15-20 minutes on foot or a few stops by SBahn (but the stop is very close) to get to the center.
The room was adequate, but you can only tilt one window slightly because they are all the way to the floor.
To make matters worse, the windows have bars attached to them like bars in a prison (probably of architectural value?) and are extremely dirty (especially inside). However, the rest of the room was mostly clean. The shower has very little water pressure and the ventilation system above it was full of dust.
The friendly service in the restaurant/at breakfast was positive (especially Carmel does a great job).
The breakfast selection is typically Irish (sausages, beans, blood pudding, etc.), but you can also order good omelettes, porrigdes, etc. fresh to the table.
I was surprised by the really good chicken curry in the evening restaurant!

My husband and I recently spent a week in Dublin, and we were thoroughly impressed with our stay at this hotel. The accommodations were excellent, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Their friendliness was refreshing, and they genuinely appreciated any gratuityâquite different from the norm in the U.S., where tips often go unacknowledged.
The food at the hotel was unexpectedly delicious. We particularly enjoyed the porridge, Mexican chicken salad, and ham and cheese toastie. The waitstaff provided us with fantastic recommendations for local restaurants (like Richmond Restaurant), sites (Phoenix Park), and museums (EPIC), all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. A special mention goes to the bartender who introduced my husband to his new favorite Irish whiskey, Teelings.
Housekeeping was very accommodating and flexible. If we weren't ready for them when they first came by, they always made a point to return at a more convenient timeâsomething I've found lacking at other hotels, where missing the initial visit often means your room doesnât get cleaned at all. The valet service was smooth and hassle-free, and I was pleasantly surprised when they proactively refunded me for a night of parking I had prepaid but didnât use.
The hotel's location was also a major plus. Itâs conveniently situated near a convenience store, has an attached coffee shop, and is within walking distance of several restaurants and bars. For those who enjoy walking, like myself, it was ideally positionedâjust removed enough from the busy downtown area to offer some peace, yet close enough to stroll to Grafton Street and other central spots. I highly recommend checking out the Asian restaurant next doorâthe noodles were amazing!
As for downsides, there were just a few. The hotel didnât have a steamer, which was a bit of a letdown as I needed one for an embroidered silk dress I planned to wear to a wedding. The coffee shop attached to the hotel was closed on weekends, and when the sole staff member fell ill, it remained closed on Monday and Tuesday of our stay as well. While the hotel did offer coffee, the shop had a broader selection of specialty drinks and convenient takeaway options like salads, sandwiches, and protein bars. Lastly, it would have been nice to have a fridge or microwave in the room for storing and reheating leftovers.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Dublin.
