Connemara Coast Hotel in Na forbacha

This hotel is situated along the famous route of the Wild Atlantic Way and looks out from the shores of Galway bay to the famous Hills of Clare made famous in song . It is a fine hotel which has a large restaurant facing the sea ,a conference hall and a delightful Spa and pool . It also has a very welcoming Bar with a fine staff to serve all the drinks with panache and style .

Unfortunately we only spent one night, it was truly a pleasure to have been guests of the Connemara coast hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable beds. The kind and courteous staff, in particular thanks to Ann and Avia who were always kind and attentive having managed all communications via e-mail.

We booked into the Gallery restaurant as a party of 10 for dinner today. On arrival, everything was lovely, and we were welcomed and shown to our table. We were asked if we would like drinks and only 2 of us were drinking wine. The wine was brought without glasses. There was beautiful homemade brown bread placed on the table, which everyone loved. Starters came out for everyone except one person, but no one came to check. We tried to get the attention of the waiting staff, but they all walked by. Eventually, we got up from the table and waited beside the kitchen to ask for the soup. The starters were all beautifully prepared and tasted great. There were 3 salt cellars on the table, and all were empty, 2 of the peppers were empty, too. Our main courses arrived, I had the cod which was beautiful some of the party had the lamb which was also beautiful others had the beef which unfortunately wasn't to the same standard and the 3 people who had it had the same complaint about the meat being very tough. Unfortunately, the same party member whose soup had previously been forgotten also had their meal forgotten. We had to again try to get the attention of staff to get this resolved. No one came to check up on us to ask if there was anything we needed, was everything okay, or did we need more drinks. Finally, dessert, most of which were beautiful except the warm apple crumble, which was very doughy. Again, the same poor person who had been forgotten when it came to dessert was left until last and then was told their choice was no longer available. The restaurant wasn't overly busy for this amount of errors. When we were paying, we were asked if everything was okay, and unfortunately, we had to be truthful. To compensate, they reduced bill by 20%. So, although these errors occurred, the Connemara Coast took responsibility and compensated for the errors. Hopefully, this was due to new staff training or something. Some truly amazing meals and some not so good, some great service, some big errors. We will return again and hope all kinks will be ironed out.

This hotel was our accommodation spot for the AFL Masters International Tout Australia vs Ireland in March 2024. Brian & Lara went above and beyond to look after all 120 of us. Amazing hotel so well appointed, location decore all A plus wonderful place to stay. Incredible facilities with truly great staff

We stayed as a family, the hotel is very good, the food and service great. The price of the spa is very good but they need to improve the pool area, the locker rooms were very dirty and lacking maintenance.

I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough. From the time we stepped into the hotel, booked in and unfortunately had to leave and go back to reality, we were treated like Royalty. We had booked a Superior room which when we drew back the curtains had a spectacular view of the sea and across the bay, the beautiful coast of Clare. The room itself had a queen size bed, a very modern bathroom with a waterfall shower, plenty of toiletries and good quality towels. The room itself had plenty of wardrobe space and hangers, an ironing board and iron. A good quality hairdryer, a safe, a 55" T.V and remote and beautiful lamps throughout the room for soft lighting. It also had a very high quality glass table and two very comfortable chairs placed to look out at the Seaview. There was also another table and chair if you just wanted to sit at it to read your free daily paper which was available at reception. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all of high quality produce, cooked to a very high standard with great variety and choice to suit all palates. The staff in this hotel are exceptional. From Front of house and in every other area of the hotel they are so friendly, courteous and very efficient. The are definitely the A team that makes this hotel one in a million. I would highly recommend to both family and friends and I'm looking forward to spending many more visits in this hotel when staying in the Galway area again. 10/10.

Just back from a 3 night stay at the Connemara Coast Hotel… what a fantastic place to stay.. the staff are so helpful and friendly especially The girls in the bar. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic great selection of food and pastries. The bar food was also delicious not a huge menu but enough to choose from. I also had a massage in the spa that was amazing and the pool area very clean and welcoming. The hotel is about a 15 min taxi away from Galway city but there is a bus stop outside hotel.. we would definitely recommend this hotel and in our opinion it should be a 5 star hotel not a 4.. will definitely return again.

Excellent food and excellent staff and great value and excellent scenery

We didn't stay so cannot comment on the rooms. We had lunch which was delicious and there's a wonderful view from the dining room

Beautiful hotel, very friendly staff, fresh coastal decor. Cosy despite bitterly cold weather. Recommend!
