Busy Pub not overpriced beer but the busier it gets the worse they pour a pint.

You have to ask the waiter yourself about the queue and waiting time. Some of the waiters are very friendly, while some seem to have a hard life. The food looks ordinary but is very delicious. The Irish stew is amazing. I saw the fish and chips ordered by the next table. The portion is very large and I heard it is delicious too.

Great choice of drinks with own brewed beers. Guinness beef stew had such an amazing taste and the seafood chowder was equally good. The live music added to the atmosphere and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Right on the edge of Temple so not too busy. Will be back here.

Found this bar right next to our accommodation… super busy with a great atmosphere, amazing live music. Has a small area outside where it’s a little quieter (if that’s what you like). Recommend to get there early as it was a 45 minute wait for food when we got there at 7.30. So only managed to get a few drinks. Friendly staff…. Fabulous music. Highly recommend.

Darkey Kelly’s was recommended to us by server in the Temple Bar precinct and boy are we glad we took his recommendation. You have to be prepared to wait for a table as they only take walk ins and it was very busy. We visited on a Wednesday in early July 2025. My wife had the chicken stroganoff (a daily special) and I had the Classic Dublin burger. Both were excellent. The service was good, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. It’s is down the far end of the Temple Bar so don’t despair if you think you can’t find it. Highly recommend.

Great spot to listen to some live music and grab a Guinness! You get to hear some traditional Irish music here if that is what you’re looking for!

Six minute walk from Temple Bar area, traditional Irish pub, friendly atmosphere, good food, nice pints, traditional music after 7 PM…highly recommend.

Had lunch here yesterday Very warm & welcoming pub Had the fish & chips & can honestly say it was the best ever .The fish was so fresh and the batter just perfect & a generous portion too. I will definitely make a return visit .

The Schoolhouse Bar

16/06/2025: I have been coming to Schoolhouse for many years, and always come back. Rooms are nice and cozy and I love the fact that they are named after Irish writers. The pub/restaurant is wonderful with helpful and friendly staff, I never miss their fish goujons and their house salad with a good glass of red wine! Even better, if in the garden!

From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and professional. The dinner was beautifully set up, the food was delicious and received so many compliments from our guests, and the atmosphere was just perfect—elegant yet relaxed. The guest rooms were equally impressive: charming, comfortable, and spotless. Everyone felt very well looked after, and the whole experience ran smoothly from start to finish. We’re so grateful to the entire team for making our special day even more memorable. Highly recommended for anyone planning an event or simply looking for a great place to stay in Dublin!
